  • welcome back H+A

don't remember this game at all !!

Cobain was Juan Cobain, a trialist signed on a short term contract (one month) ?
  • he's back!

    What a team that is.

Think that will always be "my team". As a 17 year old it was when i was starting to become really passionate, started to understood football propoerly and realised how big a part Charlton was going to be in my life.

    who is that Cobian though?
  • that was the daddy of all teams. don't remember the game
  • does anyone remember this game ????
  • Welcome back H+A
  • Remember that game, and I'm with you westie. The players there are the ones whom collectively are what I think of when I think Charlton.

I remeber that pikey Hignett playing for Barnsley that day too with very long hair and he was shite. That game made me feel very comfortable about the coming season as we just brushed Barnsley aside and they were always a nuisance team for us in years previous
  • I remember this for the wrong reason- it was the first home match i'd missed for ages- and we were on our way to Devon for a holiday with friends-

it was about the time of the total eclipse of the sun if that will help anyone place it.
  • It was indeed Lou Stan, the eclipse being during the week was it not?
  • Absolutely- a few days after if my memory serves me correctly
  • I also remember that as I had only just started working in the telecoms industry and began doing my bit to build the white elephant millenium dome

The early start to the season caught me out so I was in France on holiday for this and remember stopping and watching the eclipse in Le Mans on the way back up.
  • This was our first game back in the Championship (First division then) in our league winning season, the season after being relegated from the Premiership last time around. I remember the atmosphere was very subdued & it was a pretty routine victory.
  • I Remember this game, an ideal start for us and what a fantastic season, i only missed 4 games out of 46.
  • This game was the day after i got married. The missus loves Mendonca and was chuffed that he got a hat-trick. Great atmosphere that day and i hope it's even better than that in just over a week's time, as we need to get off to a similar start.
  • 15 years and counting..........!
  • I remember this game as it is the latest I have ever made it in to a match - 65th minute to be exact following all sorts of mayhem on the way down from Stockport. Added to this I forgot our season tickets and had to stump up when I eventually found a way in lol. The club did refund me though to be fair!
