  • Needs to start taking players on again, too many times he has played it safe and gone backwards.
  • Shows are influential Tanto can be seeing as he's barely had any time on the pitch

Some of that is game state but yes, he's a very direct player

Like he did first half getting dragged down edge of box and second half when getting off a shot ? You know who plays it safe every game and not allowed to criticise it's the central midfielders who contribute nothing going forward at all.

I see TC is getting absolute pelters online it's a bit too much tbh he's young and I wouldn't mind if the rest of team was pulling up trees and scoring or assisting and he was the only one not contributing  but they ain't if it was up to some fans we'd have 11 hard workers who offer nothing attacking wise at all and we just pump long balls up yeah it might work occasionally but we will get beat nearly every week because we have no threat/creativity at all.tc is the least of our problems imo we have no goal threat in midfield it's all sideways passing most games and we never bought or loaned championship proven strikers and are just waiting on players coming good.

A lot of negative comments about TC on Instagram posts over the past week or so. Most are just negative, even if I disagree with them. But some are abusive and even tag TC in them, have reported them, and to be fair to Instagram they have been fairly quick in deleting them.
  • He turns 22 in September but he’s still very young and new to the Championship, far too early to write off him stepping up.

The ranting and abuse elsewhere on social media doesn’t help anyone.

I could understand Tanto starting against Millwall in his place, his old club and would add the strength that’ll probably be needed in a game like that.

  • TC last season was a big reason why we got promoted (the CL rankings will back this up).  We all saw his development in League One, he deserves the opportunity to see if he can continue that at the next level.

I think people should recognise that it the whole team that is playing badly, not just TC. There were times when he had the ball and no charlton player within 10 yards of him, then he gets robbed because he is not as physical as the opposition players.
Be honest and have a go at all of them. Not TC because he has come through our academy.
Agreed when the team isn't exactly tearing teams apart and he's the one that's talked about by the away fans who's dangerous then I just don't understand it,he was involved in the goal also beat his man first half and dragged down and nearly scored himself, who else is looking dangerous in our attack or midfield ? He gets picked on because he went down and our team got walked through with some class tbh the last 25 mins lots of space was opening up in the midfield and we wasn't onto the loose balls due to tiredness or positional play.
  • As is normal for most topics there are totally different aspects of opinion from both sides and both are probably correct in some parts. However TC is struggling and that’s not surprising as it’s a big step up and I think his confidence could end up shattered if NJ keeps starting him and leaving him on when he is plainly off the boil. He needs to go on the bench and come on late in games fresh and hopefully have an impact to learn and build
  • Tbf we can all say so and so should start but if no one is doing enough in training to show they deserve it then what is meant to happen. Jones is paid to stick to his convictions and what he thinks is best. If he thinks that playing TC is best with all the available knowledge then it is what it is

I think fans, and also more importantly Nathan Jones, need to remember he has had very little break since last summer. Other than a spell he had out injured in our injury crisis.

His season ended at the end of May, he then flew out to play for Jamaica, before having a short break and was there for day 1 of our pre-season. I’m surprised we didn’t allow him to join pre-season late so he had more of a break

I don’t have a problem with TC starting games, he’s probably in our best eleven. But he needs to stop being asked to play 80+ minutes every game. Give him a breather ffs
Agreed. I don't agree with the comments that he is struggling. And yes it's confusing why he's playing so many minutes, and why two games running Apter has been subbed, with TC moved to the right.

If TC had been subbed instead of Apter yesterday, then he would have left having had a reasonable game, with an assist. Instead the tired TC 15 minutes later has the ball taken off him, they score and he gets all the blame.
  • I was sure he would be coming off when we made the substitution. It seemed obvious he was blowing.  I thought the subs yesterday were generally poor.  Pulling Leaburn who had won so much in the air, then pumping aimless high balls to no one was crazy for example.

Yep, I think part of the defensiveness of TC is a reaction to the OTT criticism elsewhere, rather than on here so much. I also agree that starting Tanto would be a good idea againt Millwall, both for the reasons that you mention, and that TC will have been away with Jamaica, so giving him a bit of a rest and letting him come on with fresh legs as a sub would probably be good for him.

I thought TC & Leaburn were exhausted and expected Tanto & Kelman to replace them.

I thought Leaburn was playing well and winning a lot in the air, which was why he needed to stay on. We’d have lost that long ball target if he’d gone off
