Very sad news. A fine, knowledgeable commentator. A wonderful blend of 'old pro' savvy having played at international level himself and articulate painting of word pictures with that Welsh delivery.

Superb Rugby commentator and I love Rugby internationals and his poetic way of passing on information with his rich Welsh voice which was ideal for the drama of the battle between the nation's.
I was shocked because he was only 65 and when they said he had passed away in his sleep and he was in Peru doing a charity walk or climb then you wonder what has happened ?
Eddie Butler, not only a Welsh International Rugby commentator but simply the best with the microphone doing live commentary on Rugby.
