I'm just wondering in a sale situation, what price would TS even want given he owns very little?
I can’t imagine anyone sensible/honest/not oil money rich would now pay anything for the club alone. Possibly a deal whereby they assume the debt, but even then I wouldn’t do it if it was my money.
That's what I was thinking, no one would want to assume the debt and the club in effect changes hands for a nominal amount.
Yep which opens the door for more chancers to come in and have their five minutes of fame and then sod off again leaving us no better off than before
Oh absolutely you'd have chancers eyeing it up again in that situation. The main hurdle for anyone would be Roland.
Garnerball was looking promising after the Plymouth game but since then everything has fallen apart and our players are being shown up as just not good enough. Or, is it the coaching that is being shown up as just not good enough! So much for needing 2 more windows to make us promotion challengers. Looks to me like Garner is starting to run out of ideas. The wheels may very well be coming off the bus and it’s all down to penny pinching by our owner. That’s how I see it anyway. Not good times to be a Charlton fan. We are well and truly going backwards. Who fancies L2 next year? That’s where we could well be heading.
Managers can only do so much with what they are given..
Not sure I agree. He, like Sandgaard appears to think we need to be selling the valley out week after week before they are in a position of investing. He needs to do some history homework. Charlton were getting dire attendances before Curbishley found the winning formula. .
Sandgaard has been given enough time and is clearly clueless. He's effectively running the club on a shoestring and has sold his manager down the river. Us too, come to that! There never was any justification for the tickets prices even if we were running away with the league whilst playing like Man City. When an owner starts talking about the style of play you know you're in trouble. I still don't know what his son brings to the table and I guess, neither does Steve Gallen, no wondering there are rumours of him leaving. A man who is great at his job now reduced to tying up the loss ends of any deal! We've failed to sign a striker who might suit our style of play whilst the present incumbents can't do it or are injured. I wish I shared the confidence to say we're not going down. Our failure to beat the poorest teams in the league suggests otherwise. A few more suspensions and injuries and it'll get worse. I think Sandgaard's silence on social media is very telling. Even he's embarrassed by it now. The sooner he goes the better.
I am not sure he does, from the very first day that the football clubs in the Northwest of England became professional in the late 1870s then clubs have needed wealthy owners to fund them. in this case many a mill owner or steel works owner. in that time the vast majority of clubs have been loss making entities..
Come on @Dazzler21 he’s having his strings pulled from above.
It suggests to me, we’ve tried it our way and it’s not working what would you like us to do? They’ve had so many offer of support and advice from so many people that know Charlton and care about Charlton yet they’d rather employ advisors/ do it their own way, yet when it goes tits up it’s yours and my fault.

This is such miserable posting. It isn't nearly as bad as this. We now play with an identity. We just haven't quite worked out how to integrate a striker into the formation (and yes, I agree we could and should have addressed this by spending money), and we've had a few unfortunate injuries (none more so than Sessegnon). We almost completely dominated FGR and couldn't put the ball in the net. Garner running out of ideas? Give me a break. This is a two-year project at least. Going backwards? Did you see us play last year?
Sandgaard needs to try and sell the club and say he is intending to.
He clearly doesn’t have the money to invest in the team. I fear another shambles season like last ones!
He has 16m shares in his company Zynex valued at $150m plus his personal wealth so he has money…but spending $10m a year just to keep us going is probably not uppermost in his mind! He’s a business man not a real fan. TBH I’m not really sure why he bought us in the first place other than as a vanity project…

Apologies added the sarcasm smiley to my original post.
I'm not going to defend that patrician bollocks from Rifkind though. Make football affordable - unconditionally - and you might have the tiniest essence of a point mate
Leo Rifkind is hopelessly out of his depth on this.
He might have been able to draft a good sale and purchase agreement but he clearly has no idea how a football club works as a business, or how to engage with its supporters.

Because he thought, like dozens of other people before him, he was smarter than everyone else that has lost a fortune owning a football club. He isn't.

No apologies necessary @Dazzler21 Her ladyship is obviously keeping her head down (waits for @Davemehmet ) so they wheel out another mouthpiece.
We eagerly await the next exclusive under the #Talkingbollox maybe Burger Boy on how he’s so misunderstood 😉👍
It’s all a bit grim isn’t it? Appreciate TS securing the club from the spivs. However, cannot see any way we will achieve success on the football field under TS’s stewardship. With luck we may maintain a mid table tenancy in L1 but that’s about the best I think we can hope for. Certainly in a couple of years we may dreaming of those days when 10,000 turned up for a game at The Valley.

Time to go imo for Sandgaard. Can't see a way back from this
What does he expect?
