Quite sobering when you realise the catastrophic decline in bands appearing in the charts.
Richard Osman says that a 'group/band' has occupied the number one spot in the UK charts for just three weeks in the last five years. The American guy Rick Beato reckons that just 3 bands - that have formed in the last ten years - feature in the top 400 rankings (in monthly listeners) on Spotify.
Tastes change, technology advances, budgets are squeezed and I feel very, very old
If you want to find your new favourite band fronted by a fellow Addick. You should check out my band "Simmons And The Stags" out....
And an even bigger plus is we're playing an EP Launch next month in London so you can come see us live for just £6 with a discount for Charlton fans only. Just send me a message if you're up for coming or I'd be happy to reply in here!

Costs a lot more to record and promote a band. More syncs for other genre of music in TV, Film & Radio Ads. But also I don't think the Charts reflect anything anymore since the change in adding streaming numbers. All you need is to be placed in X amount of big playlists and you'll chart higher than someone who has sold 1000's of records that week. It's crazy and not realistic anymore.
If anyone wants to come check out a fellow Charlton band then mine is playing tonight at The Stags Head in Hoxton, not far from Shoreditch.
4 bands are on and all charlton fans can get their tickets for just £6 using the promo code "ADDICKS". Hopefully see some of you there! My band play at 9:30 and are off stage by 10:30.

Rick Beato's great, isn't he? I love those in depth interviews he does - the polar opposite of most pop culture and its associated 'interviews' that are just flashes of random questions about a load of nonsense.
The Alan Parsons one is my favourite. If anyone has the slightest liking for Alan Parsons, Pink Floyd or Abbey Road Studios, do yourself a big favour and watch it.
