    To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

    A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

    A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

    A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

    A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

    A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

    An antidote to this outbreak of optimism.  My own words (with some help from John Fogerty).

    Long as I remember the rain been comin' down,
    Clouds of mystery pourin', confusion at the ground,
    Good men through the ages, tryin' to find a run,
    And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?

    I went down the Valley, seekin' shelter from the storm,
    Caught up in mid table, I watched as we all moaned,
    Five Year Plans and New Deals, wrapped in golden chains,
    And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?

    Saw the players playin', how we cheered for more,
    The crowd all sang together, tryin' to stop the bore,
    Still the rain kept pourin', fallin' in my eyes,
    And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?

    There's a lot swinging on this Ben Garner bloke imo ...

    In answer to the question I n the thread title, the time to be positive is about three o'clock on a Saturday afternoon.  It should last approximately twenty minutes.
