  • Knowing Castore, even if they did order the shirts they wouldn’t be here until the end of next season anyway

Always going to happen when they're on sale, it's the end of the contract with Castore, and suddenly 8k happy clappy campers turn up realising their kit is 10 years old and doesn't fit anymore. Can't expect the club to order another 5k shirts in May
No one is asking for another 5k of shirts, but being completely sold out and no shirts at all to sell is ridiculous.

Went into the shop before the game, zero official replica shirts anywhere to be seen. I get we are leaving Castore but for the play offs they'd sold a few more if they had some in stock. Really poor
bit late! bloody glory hunters should have bought it last year at full price. Shurely its better to have sold all existing stock rather than having boxes of last year shirts lying around. Plus why would you buy stuff in just to slash the price, unless they were clearing Castores surplus at a discounted cost price.
  • The fella on the stall outside the ground must be rubbing his hands together atm. Must be some old classics on ebay too for decent deals.

would have been nice if they had next years shirts in for sale.
  • I’m not sure Charlton are in any danger of attracting glory hunters.
  • They've been on sale for weeks, I picked up mine at Barnsley home game in March!

He’s a mate of mine, expanded his range, some great Sam Bartram and killer scarfs, he was very busy yesterday. He told me yesterday that he was about to order some more Alfie May scarves this time last year and he got tipped off he was going, saved him a packet

Definitely quite a few in attendance yesterday

Glory hunters or just lapsed Charlton fans?

Lapsed. I know a lot of people who didn’t bother renewing season tickets after Covid and relegation that are now coming back and are getting seasons tickets next year
  • Maybe we’ll be in Reebok clobber for the play offs

I note Castore have lost Villa, Newcastle and Wolves too.  Too much too soon I guess
  • I’d always wait for the Castore Kits to drop to £15 before buying them as can’t justify paying full price. Too late to the game this year though

Imagine he will be getting extra stock in for the 15th, should have a great evening of sales.

What are his average prices like for T-shirts, scarves etc?

I worked at the head office for 6 months last year. The two brothers love shiny toys, ie big partnerships with teams, but won’t invest in the infrastructure to support it hence the supply chain issues they have with all teams.

They’re still signing some teams, Huddersfield and England rugby, but only because they’re currently Umbro, who Castore own the licence for, so they have first right on any teams moving on from Umbro. West Ham declined this week and have gone with New Balance.

We were on their 4th tier, so basically at the bottom of the pile, which is why the kits were announced late and why there’s been no shirts available for the last few months. I quite liked our shirts all things considered, but prob best we’re moving on from them

Great bit of info, thanks @TMoney

Bought a baseball cap off this fella yesterday. Had a little chat and he was saying he kinda hoped we'd finish 5th so the home game would be on the weekend and he could maximise sales. Sure he'll make a few quid on Thursday night either way. Seemed like a nice chap.
