Josh Laqeretabua

16 year old defender who played for the U18s today in the 2022 U18s semi-final v Barnsley.

Really shored up the defence when he came on.

Big, tall, strong, comfortable on the ball, captained the U16s.

The name is Fijian, I believe.

One to watch IMHO.

Comments

  • Good to know the players that will fill the coffers in years to come

Looking forward to seeing if he can break into the first team at some point.

    Couldn’t agree more.
Sorry not to bump into you today, hopefully see you at the final.
  • Agree - he was impressive
  • I’ll keep an eye out for him in the Chelsea youth team next year.
I just hope we get to see these kids in the First Team, for a few games at the very least - Would prefer that, than lose them at Academy stage like we saw with the likes of Kasey Palmer

Really hope that Jason Adigun isnt another like that - Was excellent today, but worry about the Premier League rumours from earlier in the season, combined with the fact that he doesn't have a Pro deal yet.
New Deji signed a pro deal and then never kicked a ball in the first team again!

Shamelessly riding on @snakedavis recommendations for a longevity thread. Like the takeover thread all over again…

  • I thought he looked great in the youth cup v Brighton. Agree an excellent prospect.

    No, was injured.

Was on the bench late in the season and also played for the U23s

You try to create some interesting, positive, long term content for the site and this is the thanks you get.

I agree very good prospect, I also like the look of Toby Bower, great going forward and a set piece specialist to boot.
  • It is possible to consider each young player one by one and find it hard to be indifferent about any one of them.
Toby Bower is a case in point, a definite prospect.
  • When you look at how well our under 18 team have done this season and from what has been said on here the under 16's are even better is it possible that we have a "golden generation" coming through?

  • Surname to the paolo do canio tune
  • Have seen Zach Mitchell in several games recently. Right side defender. Seems a prospect too.
