I've been digging up Marx Brothers footage I've never seen before and came across this, two bits of footage shot for a TV show in 1959 which never got finished because of Chico's heart disease.

At 3.17 in the first one, it sure looks to me that the bike Groucho's supposed to have ridden up on is a Triumph.

Steve McQueen rides a Triumph motorbike in that fantastic Great Escape sequence.

Triumphs back in the day were beautiful bikes but somewhat prone to reliability issues! The Japanese fixed that and pretty much dominated sales - but Triumphs built today are amongst the very best bikes available.

I keep asking my wife if she's ok with me getting a Bonneville, and she just keeps calling me silly!

This touches on two key things about my dad; firstly, he was a romantic who believed in some form of destiny. And secondly, he knew how to build up credit card debt.

I just showed Ms AA the one I'd bought.  Much simpler.
