Golfie's comment was way off the mark...he completely forgot about the ironing that will need doing.
Personally I think the standard of the refereeing at this level is poor, so hopefully a big improvement.
When you have the likes of Stroud and Linington officiating at Championship level it doesn't give you much confidence and hope in the lower divisions especially when Kettle is still in a job.

I remember a lady linesperson signalled a penalty offence to us against Port Vale around 1996 or so. Vale players gave her abuse but she just stood there ,flag out and told the referee what she saw. Unlike the assistant referees of today who see sod all.

No problem with this,actually surprised more women are not refereeing games,always thought Sean Massey -Ellis would be refereeing as she is one of the best linos in the game.

Generally agree, but I've noticed that we've Sam Purkiss a few times who has actually been really good. Anyone else spotted him? Even got a comment off Curbs one game.
Not to derail the thread though. Good on Rebecca - hope she can deal with the woeful standard of football.
I hope she does well, as others have said the bar for reffing a league one match is very low, there’s some right shockers, I won’t be surprised if she’s much better than what we’ve seen so far, I don’t care whether it’s a bloke or a women, as long as they are good at their job.

And btw. I'm one of the least male chauvinist blokes you'll find. I'm currently bringing up 3 teenagers on my own. I cook, clean, do the washing & ironing, the food shopping & work 5 days a f**king week. I get nothing from either the Government in the way of child benefit or maintenance from the ex wife.

I hope she will be successful and successfully utilised refereeing women's football instead of mens. This relentless push for replacing men with women in every sphere of life may look like some "great leap forward" [to the woke among us] I think it will do in refereeing what it does elsewhere ~ it will turn many very able men away from ever wishing to now pursue that particular profession. It is not the sex of the referee that needs changing, it's the standard of refereeing that needs improving.
As The West slowly sinks further and further into the abyss, we can be thankful that all this woke nonsense will go down with it. And hope for a return to common sense, tradition and family values and clear roles for men and women to live by and follow and a welcome return to calling a spade a spade.
