  • Our defensive shape means we're playing square pegs in round holes again. We don't look particularly strong or assured.

Clare's teasing cross very nearly catches out the Wigan defence, but they scramble clear.

  • Clare having bit of a mare today.
But it's not his position. He has been one of our best players thus season playing on the right side of defence when he played in midfield up in Scotland.

Great cross Clare - right accross the Wigan box- he looks more like a right midfielder / right wing back than a defender.
  • Birstow is out of his depth.

Thanks Ross. I was sitting there reading the posts constantly c**ting off our own players and had almost forgotten there was a game going on ....

Superb tackle from Inniss to deny Lang in the box.

Always has, but fancies himself as a cm which he hasn't shone at.
  • Innis again. Brilliant recovery tackle.
  • Inniss with another monster challenge to save a goal.

  • Why aren’t the seats in the front rows used?

CHANCE! A defence splitting pass from Tom Naylor almost has Callum Lang in after a superb turn, but a last-ditch Purrington tackle denies Langy from firing on goal.

    (1-1)
  • Surprised the ref didnt give them a penalty for that too out of pity!!
  • Charlton corner..
  • I think Clare would make a good right wing back - has the pace

    Ref's got COVID
  • Why did Gilbey not slip that back to Leko FFS?

Would make a better wing back than Matthews, even though he got an assist then Lavelle should return in defence

Clare showing he’s not a defender
Clare is probably better off in midfield. Needs defenders in defensive positions. Not had a great week Clare and needs to work on discipline and concentration if he is going to continue in defence.

What have you seen of him in Midfield to make you think he is a good player there? Can't defend, doesn't get forward, rarely makes positive passes forward. Sums up the majority of players in the team this season.
