                    Looking for recommendations, would rather take it to somewhere people can recommend than the usual places for a full service.

            Not sure whereabouts in Dartford area you are but totally recommend the White Post Garage in Farningham. Top place, I've used them for years.

            Got someone round to check over this afternoon, seems according to most that we've got a clogged particulate filter.
 Anyone had this replaced or even better repaired? Been trying to get an idea of what sort of price we might be looking at before the mechanic tries to pull a fast one.0

            Assuming it's past correcting itself as its designed to do then about £100 at a garage according to this;

 No direct experience but reading around it seems there's again the possibility of clearing it yourself at full revs if not tried already. Otherwise Cleaning it (obviously cheaper option) then replacing it may be required. Replacement cost up to £450 apparently depending on labour costs.buckshee said:

 Looked into that as an option, had a quote to supply and fit a new one at £170 so at least I know what they should be quoting me roughly when they come if that's what the problem is.swords_alive said:

            The DPF needs to have a decent run 20-30 miles or so to clear the shit out, sometimes a man with a computer needs to clear the fault afterwards. Its the problem with diesels and doing short trips0

 Turns out it's the O2 sensor which unfortunately is seized up so they didn't want to force it in case it caused more damage than good, going to soak the fuck out of it with WD40 for the next couple of days and hopefully I'll be able to change it myself. If not then it'll have to go into a garage. Annoying as I need it sorting soon as.0
