I think there's certainly some talent in our squad, I just personally think they are poorly managed and poorly coached. You can see that in so many aspects of our play - yes we manage to have some good spells, but overall I'd argue everytime team I've seen play us this season look more comfortable on the ball, and have better movement off it.Talal said:I don't think there was a lack of effort out there (suggesting they weren't playing for the manager), they're just not good enough.

Biggest problem we now have is who in their right mind would take the job?
You have a toxic support base, who were promised exciting attacking football and a proper run at promotion
A coaching team that's inexperienced, and been here as part of the previous coaching setups that have failed
A group of players that you can't add to or ship off for 3 months, that are seemingly devoid of passion or talent for the most part
An incredibly difficult starting point, 10 games in and already 4 points adrift of safety10 -
I don't actually think they're 'not playing for the manager' quite in the way that the Les Reed team were.
But apart from some of them being utter shit/lazy, let's face it, you can imaging their whatsapp group 'banter' - links to Nigel's twitter videos with a load of crying-with-laughter emoticons and wanking gestures.
Really think the owner is an clueless knob, but still thank him profusely for putting his money where his mouth is for buying out the previous scum.

Watson is too old. Maybe ok for the bench but it is like playing with 10 men as the game goes on FFS! Dobson has had some poor games but the midfield needs his energy playing as we do. Sandgaard needs to sack Adkins and ask JJ what we have been doing wrong and how he will fix it and if he can't answer it, he needs to ask Euell. Then give whoever 10 games.2

Hopefully people on this website will now realise how poor Matthews is as a defender. He is OK going forward but 3 of the last 6 goals has been down to him showing his player inside rather than down the wing and they have scored 3 times and he was possibly at fault for two other goals , so many people on this website keep saying how great he is and hopefully they will now realise how wrong they are . There is a reason why so many Welsh managers have given Gunter over 100 caps and Matthews only 14 because a Right Back needs to be a defender first which clearly Matthews cannot do !!! Final comment from me, I don't get people telling TS to sell up and fuck off, as is happening elsewhere tonight. Who is he selling to...everyone else walked away? and there is not a clamour to buy football clubs in the current climate, so thats just deluded.
However what he needs to do is remove NA and bring in another manager, I wouldn't give it to JJ/JE, as I think it would be the wrong move, BUT action needs to be taken....tonight.9 -

I've seen us play much worse & not lose 4-1. Someone will undoubtedly post how many years it's been since we've lost so heavily at home. I can only think of the relegated threatened Leeds team in the Prem about 20 years ago that won 6-1.
Dont really blame the players as they didn't really play that bad. Just dont seem to be geling. We dont create enough & seem to let in too many soft goals.
If Adkins goes I dont know if JJ or Euell are the answers.16 -

Hugely depressing. The squad either turns round under someone else or we get a new manager. In reality we probably need a squad refresh and a new manager giving those lucky few left a chance at redemption.
Given the finances in League 1 even with our benevolent new owner the latter is unlikely to happen.
Something is rotten (perhaps not in the heart of Denmark but certainly in SE7) but as an outsider I don’t know what.We might all be totally Charltonised but what have we done to deserve this?I hate seeing managers sacked but feel the chirpy morning messages will be starting to grate a tad with the players and the owner / management team.2 -
Played probably the best I’ve seen us play this season and we still completely capitulated. No hiding from it, 4-1 is an awful result and the sort of result that would get most under pressure managers the sack.
Didn’t feel there was a lack of effort from most on the pitch, which leads to tactics and/or fitness to be the problem, which ultimately lies down to the manager. Also, agree that subs were way too late.
Not really sure what the answer is but, especially after tonight, it’s hard to argue that it’s Adkins.

I'd be surprised if another manager could get significant improvement from a number of them, especially the central midfielders. No matter who gets picked in that position they aren't good enough over 90 minutes and I don't see how a different manager could change that.
