Mental throw across our own area to set up a chance for them in 2nd half. Lavelle: 6 - At least won his headers and is clearly a reasonable League 1 defender....but a better option than Deji? (who looks like he can defend AND use the ball). Famewo: 4 - Couldn't be bothered 1st half. Didn't close down their forward and allowed him to turn to open the play up for the 2nd goal. Missed two routine headers 2nd half by getting underneath them. The next couple of months will shape his career....he will either prove himself to be a player destined for a higher level....or a journeyman, who will fade out of the game. Gunter: 4.5 - Probably could've got closer to the crosser for the 2nd goal. Bloke was probably running on empty from the 1st minute. DJ: 4 - Didn't want to track back (which was ok v Crewe because they weren't good enough to take advantage). Very moderate on the ball and rightly subbed. Watson: 5.5 - Didn't make any challenges 1st half which gave Cheltenham the foothold they needed. 2nd half he played pretty well, winning quite a few challenges and moving the ball positively. He needs to be used a sub and give us a burst for 20 mins. Morgan: 5.5 - Nowhere near the oppo for 45 mins but did get into it for a while 2nd half. One great whipped ball for Stockley's "diving" header over the bar. Not a 90 min player. Kirk: 4.5 - Feel a bit sorry for him because he's not going to get any decent feed from Gunter. To get into the action, he needed to play tighter to Stockley to pick up bits but stayed wide and the game passed him by. He looks technically adept and I'm sure he's not a bad player at all. Lee: 6.5 - At least had a go (one decent run 2nd half) and nearly combined with Stockley 1st half for a chance. Looks technically sound and seems to have the right attitude. Difficult to see where he could fit into 442, unless he plays left....or in the centre with Arter. Stockley: 5.5 - Had a difficult game and was well marked. Was surprised his two headed chances were executed so poorly and that summed up his afternoon. On the plus side...he never gave up. Needs a partner (Washington). Leko: 6.5 - Made some good runs off the ball and was at least prepared to have a go. Calm finish for the goal and Charlton is clearly a good fit for him as a club. Good to have him back. Washington: 6 - Livened it up immediately after being introduced but faded after that. I'd give him the week off and bring him back fresh on Saturday. Referee: 5 - No clangers but allowed far too much time-wasting. I don't care who wastes time....them or us....refs need to be hard on it. Also, allowed too much feigning of injury. If you've got cramp...get off the field.
