One of the few positives in recent times. Enjoyed watching him play and develop under us. From a player who paid his own way to join us, to being a real threat and terrorising the opposition so much and so often that 3 players would be defending against him.
Shame as he's been very good this season. Maybe we'll get to a position at some point where players will actually want to stay with us rather than leave after a good season or two.
Huge loss. I try not criticise people who post on here as everyone entitled to their opinion, even people who are obviously trolling, but can’t understand the negative he has received this season. Has shown massive improvement this season and has shown he is one of the best wingers in the league.
This sounds like the muddle of the FFP for Everton and others where the argument seems to be interpretation of what costs count / don’t count but ignore the actual spend being made / commited to.
300k higher than what I initially expected but lower than the 600k that was floated about at one point (and who knows where it came from).
It being a loan or a sale doesn't really matter to us if we're getting money in. If I were a Derby fan I would be worried about losing him in the summer but I'm guessing there is some sort of informal agreement there.
Basically we're getting that money for a player we would have lost in the summer for free. And given we're not getting promoted and I think we're unlikely to get relegated, keeping him if he isn't going to sign a new deal doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And that's before we get into a formation switch which means we don't have a clear role for him in the team.
It's been so great watching him grow and develop in his time here. Remember he started on a six month deal signed in the summer, and look how far he has come. He is absolutely brilliant running at defenders, and for a player who used to struggle to play 60 minutes I think he's played less than the full match only a couple of times this year. Rapid and two-footed, no matter how poor our team was he was always one who got you out of you seat. And man has he learned to finish as well.
Sorry to see you go CBT, but congratulations on how far you're come. It seems like you've put in a lot of work, and I expect you'll be in the Championship one way or another before too long.

Fancy having to resort to "borrowing" a player until the end of a season because you aren't "allowed" to buy him.
Made sure to bend over backwards to give Derby what suits them.
I assume Derby will also have to pay a mandatory fee at the end of this loan as well as part of the agreement. Hopefully it’s another 300k.
Bloke looked me right in my eye and said he wanted to stay.
This is why I have trust issues.
