Just a heads up for those that park around the streets near meridian etc that RBG have their annual festival tomorrow at Charlton Park. used to be at the barracks and know that traffic and parking has been chaos in previous years.
At 165k cost for festival, RBG are spending more than TS this summer. But seriously, living beside park, expecting streets to be packed. Doubt there will be many parking spaces around Hornfair/Charlton Park tomorrow afternoon.
Maybe useful as well - the normal entrances to the park will be closed off as well. The Canberra Road gates will be closed and whole parks is closed in morning until 12.

TBF, they can’t be expecting many people to turn up for that if it’s being held in Charlton Park which is probably also not the most accessible venue by public transport and which would have limited parking availability even if Charlton wasn’t playing at home. Given the forecast is for rain all afternoon from 11am this outdoor event is hardly likely to be that much of a concern for charlton fans worried about competition for parking spaces. #nodoubtillbeprovenwrong

Charlton Park, has 4 bus routes that go right by the park and Charlton Station is a 10 minute walk, I think that is quite accessible.

Fck me, you’ll be telling us they have electric lights in some houses up there next. 4 bus routes and a trek up a steep hill isn’t describing a place that’s well served by public transport. That description sounds more like Oxford’s ground last week.

Going to be a day where I'll be leaving an hour earlier than usual me thinks

Don't be tempted to park in the streets near the station. Greenwich Council has taken back the control of parking and wardens will be around.
