Galileo .. Racehorse

The champion racehorse and sire of scores of champion horses (e.g Frankel)  has been put to sleep aged 23 following a non curable and debilitating foot injury.
Galileo has made umpteen millions for the Irish based Coolmore racing operation and other owner/breeders around the world.
It's very doubtful if there will ever be another thoroughbred stud horse as successful as him. As said, his progeny and his line have won races worth millions. An inevitable, yet sad day for horse racing.

    A truly amazing horse. What a stunning career as a champion and then sire to so many more Group 1 winners, including Frankel.  His legacy will live on for generations if the performances of his “grandkids” is anything to go by.  Such a beautiful creature.
