In the opening stages Jimmy Floyd Fat Fuck fell over in the box about five yards away from the nearest defender (Sir Chris) and the ref gave a penalty. The way he nodded in agreement with the referee still winds me up.

Story i heard was the ref wanted the game called off but his boss (Head of the PGMOL Phil Don) was also at the game and insisted that the game go ahead
Chelsea properly took the piss that day. They never gave us any warning of what to expect. Had they been playing man.utd for instance Ferguson would have told them to FUCK OFF and refused to play. In hindsight we should have done exactly the same.

I was up in the main stand that day with a couple of Chelsea supporting mates. I got absolutely hammered and was upsetting all around me. Anyway, we should have refused to play.

Anyway we were playing the throw in/corner game and I happened to be holding the £100+ right at the end which was going to soften the blow of the game....when deep into added on time (on top of the already added on time) the ref inexplicably gave a corner and I had to pass the money to the grinning Chelsea berk next to me

There's a lot to hate Chelsea for. Their fans thinking (or not thinking) setting fire to cars. Battle of the bridge, penalty that wasent. Wank lamphead getting a penalty when it was closer to the half way line than in the box. That beach of a pitch.
Got my own personal own back when iniesta scored that goal (a game where tbf Chelsea were done by the ref) and I run from outside in a Barcelona shirt inside a pub full of Chelsea and celebrate as if Charlton had just scored a last minute winner against chelski. Even did a knee slide.
can't stand Chelsea for all the reasons above plus my cousin is a big fan and loves sending me messages when they win saying 'Pride of London' etc. Once when we'd gone over there for a Chelsea v Charlton game and we'd won I got back to the car near the Embankment after the game to find they'd left and gone home without me. Sore loser. Another reason to hate them. He's not appreciating the random Fox emoji I keep sending him at the moment ...

I would have told them to fuck off & walked away. Diabolical & do you really think Chelsea would have played that stunt if it was Man U visiting that day. Of course not - they looked at their upcoming fixtures and new that they were "safe" with us.

We were going well and about to overtake them in the league and then the big fix. The penalty was also the only penalty offence NEVER to have been shown on TV - all highlights etc only showed the taking of and not the cause of. It was a fix. They then handed another big brown enevelope to a certain promising CAFC midfielder to jump ship . . .
In all the years of going to football this is the one and only match that I have attended in the posh seats (as a corporate guest of a Chelsea mate). My anger was deadened by the copious amount of alcohol I consumed that day.

The FA Premier League has decided to fine Chelsea just £5,000 over the state of the Stamford Bridge pitch for their January 11th match with Charlton Athletic.
The FA Premier League ruled Chelsea were in breach of Premier League rules governing conduct between clubs, but decided the sandy, beach-like surface 'did not constitute an artificial surface within the meaning of the Premier League rules'.
And instead of agreeing with Charlton's request to have the game replayed, the governing body has allowed the result to stand but fined Chelsea.
Charlton chief executive Peter Varney said: "FA Premier League rules require all matches to be played on natural grass. The Chelsea v Charlton fixture on January 11 was played on a predominantly sand surface, and in addition to this, the treatment of our club, both prior to and on the day of the match, was unacceptable.
"Because of this, we are extremely surprised by the decision taken by the FA Premier League board, particularly as the fine levied is the same as that given to clubs whose matches kick off a few minutes late."
The FA Premier League also ruled that Charlton were within their rights to question the nature of the playing surface and the lack of information provided by Chelsea in the week leading up to the game. Chelsea have been fined £5,000, plus the Premier League's costs in the inquiry.
Varney added: "In the light of today's decision we would ask that the FA Premier League publish in full the report of the inquiry team set up to consider this matter."
"It has been suggested in some quarters that we should have refused to play the fixture once we saw the pitch, but that would almost certainly have resulted in our club having points deducted.
"We have not doubt that the matter would have been dealt with differently, both on the day and subsequently, had the opposition been one of the sides challenging for the title."
5 grand?! What a fucking joke. Points deducted what a bunch of cowardly c***s. it was disgrace of a pitch yet they let it go ahead. After all these years I am now more angry than I was at the time. Tossers.

Hate them , so hope Man City beat them with a goal early on and it’s dull as fuck like the Spud cnuts had in their final .
