noise on another forum that nigel may not be happy with sandgaard, something about broken promises. sounds a bit like panic to me, anybody itk have anthing to say ont hat?
I believe this could be true, the club been losing more man than expected £11 mill plus a year, which is a lot more than originally expected. This had a huge effect on the transfer budget. The budget is actually less than the year we were promoted!
The wage budget, when we last went up, was actually massive by league 1 standards. The problem was a lot of it was tied up by Tommy D and Gobbinson's signings that hardly played. We had players on about £800 a week that played every week and players on 10 times that that didn't.

Vetokele and Sarr come to mind as two players on deals that would even make Wigan blush.
Ipswich drew 3-3 with Colchester earlier tonight, with an 87th minute equaliser saving them from defeat.
Not a rumour I know, but relevant with everyone watching Ipswich hoovering up players and turning green with envy.
Pre-seasons are absolutely irrelevant in trying to read a team.
I remember coming out of Solly’s testimonial after being pasted by Villa and his words of ‘stick by us, we’re gonna need you this season’, thinking we were doomed. We of course still went down, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, and we went down on the final day, owned for half of the season by Dutchatelet and the other half by ESI.
Even the first few games can’t really give you an indication of what will happen. The season we were in the championship, I thought we were genuine play off contenders! Last season, we had those 6 wins in the league and it was a given we were up automatically.
I haven’t seen any of the pre-season games, so can’t comment, but I pay no attention to good or bad reviews at this stage. We definitely need more players in to get promoted, but as for giving predictions off the back of pre-season games, I think it’s an absolute waste of time.

So my source in the club has responded saying that his not heard anymore on the medicals. Don’t know exactly what that means. I’m pretty sure 1 or 2 of you on here speak to the same guy.

Bauer as well .
Marshall, Reeves, Pearce and Ajose weren't on peanuts either.

We've injured them before the medical. Those bloomin' potholes!

Sounds promising then 🙄
Depends on who the source is. If it’s Jason euell and he isn’t aware of any medical, then time to worry. If the source is the assistant groundsman, then don’t panic yet
For those of you moaning. Are any of the signings so far a disappointment ? Clare and Dobson both look very promising and are the right age to grow with us and provide energy and stature. MacGillivray is at least as good a replacement for Amos. Many who know more than I say an upgrade. We know what Famewo and Stockley give us. We know we’re going to get four more loans. Likely to be a mix of experience and PL prospects. We will also I’m convinced sign another two permanents. Why think those two will be any less good than the business we’ve already done ? Loans are always hit and miss so it’s hard to make any assessment. Chill. Yes we all want more players to come in and so do the club.
Normally we're now entering the time loanees join, so expect a flurry of loan activity over the next month. I'd expect a left back, another centre back and a couple of more attacking players to be our loan options.
Also worth noting those that refused to sign new contracts are no longer being paid... This will open the door for us to negotiate with them as they'll likely be more willing to chat.
Finally I'd be surprised if we're not looking at some other paid signings.
It has, but we’ll see in the next month or so how much that’s the market and how much it’s TS. As TS said we’d blow through this league some are assuming it’s TS not being willing to spend enough.
Saw someone mention Sam Greenwood , that would be an interesting loan although I'd assume Leeds would want him to be a regular starter. Scored a stunning freekick for Leeds last night too.

Do you mean wage budget rather than total budget?
I don’t remember us spending money on a fee last time which we have this time.
We are obviously still fairly competitive in wages as signed players over rivals.
I am quite happy if we are not over paying and offering silly wages.
TS is building the club from the bottom up with with a structure that is good enough for me and will serve us well longer term.
The total budget, makes no odds if we pay a fee, there is a total budget for the playing side, and spend it on what the feel is best, wages, signing on fee, transfer fees.
The league one season we went up, we had some huge wages on the books, which had lowered considerable since then.
We had Vetokele who was on 10k a week, Nabby On 9k a week. So that took up a huge part of the budget. We are working on similar figures to previous seasons.
he is building from the bottom up, but we just need to be realistic, on our targets. We are going to be very reliant on the loan mark.
I wasn’t being negative, the club is in a strong position. But just need to be realistic
My mates son was at the game last night and waited outside for Thomas and got a photo with him. He asked about transfers and TS replied “we’re speaking to players and agents every day but most transfers will happen on deadline day “

PS home kit WILL be revealed today with EXISTING players.
(Not Charlton related, I just like the way it feels when I wake up in the morning).
Stockley - Perm
MacGillivray - Perm
Dobson - Perm
Famewo - Loan to Buy
Clare - Perm

I wish you would get get out of the bed first.
Why do you bother to support the team? Honestly?
You want a team that can throw cash around then go and support City.
Some on here have a strange sense of entitlement with nothing to back it up.
As mentioned, there are 5 weeks left of the transfer window and I am confident it will all work out.

Every club, from the likes of Westham and Everton down are effected by what City/United/Chelsea etc do with their loans.
It's a massive release of avaliable talent to a starved market and will both directly and indirectly ripple through the leagues.
