That's because they've made valuable contributions this season. Schwartz had been a waste of wages. We could have signed a CB in the window, which we desperately needed, but we signed Ronnie instead. Then he misses a penalty. That's why it sticks in the mind.
Obviously it's not the reason we're missing out. We've been utter pish for too much of the season.
All good, so far. Oxford will now sit back and let in a late one. Portsmouth will panic and push up too far and get caught on the break. We have weathered the storm and will do a ‘Lincoln’ on them.
Update: Oxford get super-complacent, Burton nick one that’s offside. Oxford player sent off for remonstrating too much with lino. Pompey in total panic and concede a second. Charlton cash in.
OOOH! Great diagonal ball from Maatsen to Washington who brings it down then shoots, but it just whizzed past the post. That would have been an amazing goal.
