Looked it up on Wikipedia and it says its a city.

Although in the list of biggest English cities there are a few without football teams that are above it. Kingston-upon-Hull is the biggest without a team according to that.

Surely Hull City is the team for Kingston-upon-Hull?

    You've got me stumped!

I always thought the definition of a city was a town with a cathedral in it so I wouldn't describe either Dudley or Telford as cities.

I'm probably wrong though! I only got grade 4 geography "O" level.

That was once the definition but City status can now be award by Mrs Mountbatten-Windsor. Sunderland is now a City as maybe Brighton and Portsmouth.

Croydon applied and failed which at least shows that some quality control is in place.

Dudley isn't a city but I believe it is the largest town without a professional team though Warsaw, West Brom and Wolves are in spitting distance.

Greenwich applied and failed as well at the millenium, I think they should have gone for Royal Borough Status, the Royal Bourugh of Greenwich sounds better.

Then we could change our name to Real Charlton. Do I like that!

And I'm sure that Warsaw has two pro teams. Leiga and Polonia ; -)
