Crazy we've only got two away games left, that worries me a little bit0

Bowyer's post match after a victory is always "I told them to do x and they did it".
Not anti Bowyer, just saying.
Yeah, but you're being very selective.
You're right about Bowyer in some of his last few months here.
But that wasn't the Bowyer that led Charlton to 2 playoffs in successive seasons, Wembley and promotion.
That Bowyer was very complimentary and supportive of his players.

Great result and a very solid overall performance, back 4 excellent today plus of course Amos.
Thought substitutes made us weaker but we had enough in us to get over the line.

Great win today. Amos, who has been poor for quite some time, did really well, commanded his box and made some great saves. Unlucky with their goal.
Shame Washington is injured, really could use his energy in games like this.
I’m still not that convinced by Gilbey and his goal was a bit flakey but well deserved for persistence. After he scored that really seemed to boost his confidence and he looked better, after giving the ball away a few times earlier on.We need to utilise all those flick ons from Stockley, otherwise it’s pointless him winning those headers. But all in all a much improved team performance today.3 -
Ipswich playing Wimbledon Tuesday and we have a rest. Wombles had a fantastic result today so I hope they give them a hard game.22

Great win. Sunderland were 3rd and have one of the best home records in the league. If their defence was as good as their midfield and attack they’d walk this league. W

Charlton TV is just the best!
I chuffing love it.
Darren Bent next week, that was a massive win, super important.
If beat Ipswich, this is actually on.25 -
Superb away win.
Millwall smashed at home.
Sheffield Wednesday a step nearer relegation after a dreadful defeat.
Almost every team around us in the table dropped points.
What a great day.18 -

But guts, professionalism, determination, leadership and bloody good defensive qualities - that's what the skipper has to offer.1
-
Last two games Innis and Gilbey coming back have made us a much more solid and threatening side.
Matthews and Purrington at full backs we look more solid also.
Undefeated in 8 as well8 -

Also for those who were moaning about the Lincoln game being called off (yes Golfie i'm looking at you), i think us having a week off to prepare for today definitely helped us.4

Good win. Last second pen misses and the other stuff we were be comfortable in play offs now0

Huge effort, players running on empty. Haven't felt much attachment to this group this season but proud of them after that.4

Each time we play them at Wembley we surely decrease our chances of beating them there, we surely cant do it again
Although with our away form being better than how we play at the Valley, anything is possible4 -

But you can't argue with their very impressive defensive record throughout this season.

What a game, they all did well.Amos MOTM, Pearce, Gilbey, Purrington and DJ excellent, Stockley commanding in the air as usual.Happy with everyone on the pitch and Adkins got the tactics so right. Can’t wait for next week.Ohh, and a special mention for Lennie, he was terrific.22
-
Big credit to Adkins for plugging those holes at halftime. Sunderland could've scored four in the first half, but after we came out, they barely threatened. Nigel proved his tactical nous.
Massive result!
Re: the 'defensive' sub, I think we need to remember, we only have two wingers in the squad, and so if DJ comes off knackered, the best choice is a natural right-sided player like Gunther, over Shinnie, who has likely never played RW in his life. And in the last ten minutes of an away game, when you are calling on everyone to defend, would you rather have Gunther or Shinnie there? When this squad is rebuilt, I doubt we will see a RB brought on for RW again.
Gilbey really growing into himself now. I thought his late runs into the box looked a threat and he could've had a couple but for some excellent defending from Sunderland.
Speaking of Sunderland, looking at the table you can see just how much they needed to win that game. They really gave it everything. But we matched them. Effort-wise it was a real 'Charlton' performance, and it's a long, long time since I've said that.

Best tenner I've spent today. Really entertaining, only a few painful moments. Nerves intact.

Fantastic result keeps it going very nicely, NA appears to be a very good fit for Charlton 👍1
