    Only 4 clubs paid more than us to agents this season then. Gillingham - £0. Imagine what they would be doing if they could sign players that used agents!

    Apologies if I’m being a bit thick, but why do clubs have to pay the agent? If the agent works for the player surely it’s his responsibility? 🤯

    Sometimes agents work for clubs, ie if you want to offload players. And sometimes maybe part of a deal when signing a player is that the club pays the agents fees?

    A good friend of mine was an agent for athletes and had a dabble in the football world. He got out sharp as he said it was a real snake pit.

    On a side note he said that Charlton under Roland literally spent no money on players at the end. Roland only offered one of his player £200 a week to sign. He turned it down as non league Dover paid more

    I'm only going by Football Manager game but as far as i can see whenever there's a transfer or new contract the Agent gets paid his (extortionate) fee by the club. whether that's true in real life i don't know.

    I would imagine a lot of that is to Phillips, Bonne and Doughty's agents.
