MP3 speakers - advice needed

edited July 2007 in Not Sports Related
I'm looking to get some speakers that are compatible for use with my Sony MP3 player (NW-A1200) but haven't really got a clue.

I've had a quick look on the Argos website as a start and this seems to tick the boxes, but could do with some advice/a second opinion from the good folks on here.

any good?

  • Always worth going to somewhere like John Lewis first to see what you want in action, plus they will always try to match the price you have found elsewhere & you may get a 5 year guarantee thrown in.
  • Depends what you want the speakers for - travel?

The "specialist" speaker sets for MP3 players can be expensive, when all you really need are some self powered speakers with an amp built in that connects to your usual headphone socket. A lot of computer speakers will do this. You can get good sounding ones (bass, etc) this way.
  • Don't think you have to get one labelled "mp3" any stereo with a line in input will work with any MP3 player.
  • If you can afford them, get the Bose speakers...Quality
