  • Amos: 5 - did he make any saves? 4 shots on target and 3 went in again, I don’t think Amos is good enough
    Gunter: 6 - didn’t do anything wrong
Oshilaja: 6.5 - mostly solid though poor header led to the first goal
Pearce: 6 - had his hands full today as not tall enough, strong enough or quick enough
Purrington: 7 - but did stand off their guy for the 3rd though Curbs suggested poor communication from Pearce
Shinnie: 6.5 - not been at the races since his injury
Pratley: 7 - mostly ok, but getting a bit slow for this
    Forster-Caskey: 6 - didn’t do much before getting injured
Millar: 8 - some sparkling runs but needs to work on his decision making. Nice assist for Chuks.
Aneke: 7 - did well, nice goal, unlucky to hit the bar, more unlucky to be sent off
Stockley: 8.5 MOM worked hard scored a goal, did everything he could
Jaiyesimi: 6.5 - seemed nervous or subdued, playing too deep but no doubt under instructions to cover the right back. Surely his strength will be running at players into the box, not covering Gunter
Referee: 1  - lost it second half, allowed himself to be bullied by Evans and ignored cynical spoiling tactics deployed by Gillingham all across the pitch

Schwartz: n/a - brought on too late, Bows should have replaced Aneke after the booking
    Morgan: n/a - too late

  • Amos: 5.5 Hasn't looked at his best for a while now.
Gunter: 6 - Ok but nothing more.
Oshilaja: 5.5 Some good bits but not convincing.
Pearce: 5.5 Some good headers but also not convincing.
Purrington: 6 Can understand the backing off to buy time for support from Pearce...but that support was too late in arriving.
Shinnie: 6 - Some good passes out wide but didn't have the energy for 90 mins. Very good cross for Stockley's goal.
Pratley: 6 - Took up some good positions but the blend with Shinnie wasn't right.
Forster-Caskey: 7 - Very energetic and won the ball in some good areas.
Millar: 7.5 - Not bad at all and a constant threat but needs to get the ball in the box a bit more.
Aneke: 6 - Played well but the two yellows were stupid. The 1st one was so unnecessary and the 2nd one he shouldn't even be going for with a high foot. Maybe he really is only any good for sub apps or 65 mins and makes mistakes/loses focus when fatigue starts to set in.
Stockley: 6.5 - Wasn't really in the game as much as usual. Nice headed goal and shows what happens if you get the ball in early for him.
Jaiyesimi: 5.5 - Overdid it. Crossing was poor when he tried it...and maybe that's why he didn't try it too often? Otherwise, decent technique and had a good shot late on.
Referee: 6 - For me, he got the Aneke bookings right. A 1980's ref doesn't produce a 2nd yellow for the high studs but a ref today has to.

Schwartz: n/a - Get a sneaky feeling LB doesn't rate him.
    Morgan: n/a

Referee: 4.5 was doing OK I thought until he climbed into Steve Evans voluminous pocket. Wouldn't have got away with a lot of what he did if there'd been fans present

  • Amos: 6 - not much to do, other than picking another 3 out of the net
Gunter: 5 - part of a shaky defence and didn’t contribute much offensively
Oshilaja: 5 - a terrible start to the game, which set the tone for another poor defensive performance. Disappointing after his recent good form
Pearce: 5.5 - his lack of pace was exposed once or twice and he and Oshilaja struggled against the two big lumps up top
Purrington: 6.5 - our best defender on the day and got forward we’ll to support Millar. Blotted his copybook by failing to engage Dempsey for the winning goal but had just got back from a lung bursting run forward. I thought he’d also taken a bit of a knock in that passage of play
Shinnie: 6 - a lovely cross for our second goal but looked a little lightweight. Certainly not a player who can play in a midfield two
Pratley: 6 - did ok but always looks erratic if he has time on the ball
Forster-Caskey: 6.5 - was playing well before he pulled up
Millar: 7 - an excellent ball carrier and a real threat at this level
Aneke: 6.5 - pretty unplayable in the first half but his sending off was stupid and really cost us. Lack of discipline is becoming a problem for the side - 6 sending offs so far - and Bowyer needs to get a grip on it
Stockley: 6 - a nice goal and worked hard, although he was generally well marshalled by Gillingham’s centre-halves, who were impressive aerially
Jaiyesimi: 5.5 - a good effort near the end but had little overall impact against a dogged defence. In retrospect, introducing Smith or Albie for JFC may have given us some control of the game and supported a weak defence
Referee: 4 - he let Gillingham get away with standing in front of a free kick and preventing us taking it in the first 5 minutes, thereby setting the tone for the rest of the game. It was transparently an Evans tactic and the referee condoned and encouraged it. He actually spoke to one of their players about it just before the end and the guy could barely keep a straight face. Infuriating
