Match Thread: Charlton v Swindon | Sat 23 Jan 2021| 3pm

edited January 2021 in General Charlton
Match Day. That old familiar sense of anticipation. Even a new signing!

Many expect us to give struggling Swindon a good old tonking - or at least finish with 3 points in the bag.
Time-weary and jaded Addicks fear the worst. Experience can be a cruel teacher.

What does Lee Bowyer have to say? "We have to just concentrate on what we need to do."
Can't argue with that, Bow. All we want is a balanced set up, 100% effort for 90 mins and a win. Not much to ask for, eh?

Alfie Spanner has departed and Jayden Stockley is in the building. We're hoping he can show us today what he's all about.
Our missing twin towers, Inniss & Famewo, are still missing at CB - although Watson and Maddison are on the point of recovery, but perhaps too early to be involved today?

Charlton: Amos; Matthews, Gunter, Oshilaja, Maatsen; Millar, Forster-Caskey, Pratley, Williams; Aneke, Schwartz.

Subs: Harness, Pearce, Stockley, Gilbey, Shinnie, Washington, Morgan.

For those who really should know better but finally succumb, the match is available live on stream :
Supporters who are yet to purchase a pass for Saturday's game can do so here.

Don't forget, the Valley Pass Live show with Scottie at 2.15 pm.
Special guests Curbs and "Stevie Brown, he won't let you down".

Audio commentary with Terry & Greg available to Valley Pass subscribers.

After the aberration of my foolish 0-9 home defeat prediction i have had a couple of days of lucidity and relative sanity.

The new guy can surely not have been Charltonised yet? Can he? Come on? No?

    3-1

    Schwartz
    Washington
    Stockley

Embarassing defensive balls up for theirs.

Yeah, trying to find the ground at Shrewsbury, I remember! In those days, it was Gay Meadow.

FA’s probably doing the warm up for 10 mins giving all the doomsters and gloomsters a gee up 😉.

No place in the matchday 18 for poor old Bogez.

Bristol Rovers or Grimsby, it is then , p'raps?

With the available, fully fit, players that's as strong as it gets. Even the change around at CB makes sense with Pearces last performances. I'm genuinely excited for this match.

If I was to grumble I'd much prefer Morgan to Pratley in middle.
