Peter Varney is reporting that Tom Morris has passed away .. Shocker RIP Tom

I’m sorry to hear of the death of Tom Morris and condolences to his family and friends. His incredible library of iconic #CAFC photos down the years will never be forgotten, and I hope they can ultimately sit within the club museum or similar so future generations can enjoy them.

Oh dear.
An absolute legend and icon.
I remember driving him to and from the first Ipswich play off.
Good company, great guy, excellent photographer.
I well remember looking out for him constantly as sometimes the only 'our' photographer by the opposition goal hoping to get a snap of a Hales goal or a Peake Rocket.
The stars really are out of alignment this year, but Tom along with the other good folk and legends we have lost will form a new constellation.

A proper Charlton legend, Colin Cameron was THE cafc stats man, Tom Morris was THE cafc photographer. His photos were better than any of his rivals and not just those on the pitch, but the ones of the fans in the stands.

Still love seeing them particularly in the Voice. His legacy will always be with us. Always came across as a gentleman.

Genuinely gutted, another big part of the Charlton family snuffed out in 2020.

His photographs have been viewed by every member of this forum and his legacy will live on through those.

Thoughts are with his family.

That's a horribly sad end to the year.  RIP Tom.  I hope there's a spot with just enough room for a small stool, right next to the pearly gates, where you can snap away to your heart's content.

That's a good point which has jogged my memory. I remember back in the old First Division games whenever we played one of the big clubs at "home" all the photographers would hang around the halfway line until after the toss and then leg it en masse down to the end we were defending to get a good spot - apart from Tom who would walk the other way and take his pick of where he set up.
