Happy Xmas
So this is Christmas and what have you done?
Another year over and a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one, the old and the young
Happy Christmas to Lifers and those who just lurk
Give thanks for the forum and all of the work
From the mods who administer, who delete and correct
We owe you our thanks and we give you respect
This year saw more than the spread of the virus
We got rid of a man as old papyrus
He can now spend time making his teeth look flossier
And thank his luck he’s not in a dossier
We craved the old days: Bents, Powells, Mendoncas, Flanagans
But all got reduced to Bonkers Shenanigans
The thieving ex-owners took the club for a ride
But the rock and roll Dane has brought back some pride
To the friends we have lost, we remember each one
Let’s cling on to hope, that soon we’ll have fun
On the way to the Valley, for fun and for kicks
But glance at the sign: “one-oh-seven-six”
Happy Xmas. 2020 is (nearly) over.
