Saw this at the T20 yesterday, disappeared halfway through the game.
was next to a Hartlepool flag just to rub things in.

England will play Afghanistan in the semi-final of the U19 WC on Wednesday following their opponents sensational win against Sri Lanka today
Afghanistan crawled to 134 all out off 47.1 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka were 43-7 at one point but managed to get themselves to 112 before the next wicket fell. The 9th wicket was lost with them still needing 16 but the last pair managed to get them to 130 before one of the remaining batsmen ran himself out. That was Sri Lanka's fourth run out in losing by 4 runs with exactly 4 overs to spare!
We certainly can't count our chickens but it would be extremely disappointing if we couldn't beat this Afghanistan side - they beat Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe (lost to Pakistan) to get into the QFs - we would then meet one from Pakistan, Australia, India or Bangladesh in the final on Saturday week.

South of England Schools Team taken at St Lawrence, Canterbury in 1956. The significance of the photo is that there are two England players in it. World Cup winners in fact. At football that is.
Geoff Hurst is 2nd right of the players in the back row and Bobby Moore is, as one would expect, seated in the captain's position smack in the centre of the front row. Both of them played for London Schools and also part of the Essex CC set up at youth level and Hurst at one point even considered giving up football for cricket. Good job he didn't!6 -
Following Collingwood rightly highlighting the issues that our players have had to face with Covid bubbles let's hope that all our players pull out of the IPL auction and give themselves a few months to re-group and relax before the County Championship and the England games start. I'm sure that, for the sake of their mental health sake, they will.
On a separate note, the Perth Scorchers have just won the Big Bash. Due to the restrictions imposed specifically upon them, they had to play all bar the first of their 16 fixtures out of State and live for the duration of the competition in hotels away from home.2 - Sponsored links:

England 57-1 after 7, Banton out cheaply
Jordan and Billings back for Garton and Brook0 -
Moeen at his best - all timing (apart from the final ball) and he takes Holder for 28 in one over0
-
Mooen out for an innings changing 63 off 280
-
England finish on 193-6
Game on!1 -
193-6 end of innings0

A very good score, but not one the Windies won't fancy chasing1

Rather looks like the Windies have re-stocked the conveyor belt of hitters!1

They still need to learn to read wrist spin though!0 -
Hilarious and very in-character for Moeen's captaincy this series to lurch between a duck and getting smashed in a defeat to a complete winning all-round performance1
-
The Windies win the toss and elect to bat. Fabian Allen and Odean Smith in for them for Darren Bravo and Dominic Drakes. Saqib Mahmood replaces Tymal Mills for England0
-
Topley has been superb for us so far in the series and could cement his place in the side1
-
47 from mahmoods last 2 overs in this series0
-
Mahmood is shocking. In his last game Windies needed 21 from the last 3 balls, so all he has to do is hit the strip and not bowl an extra. Next ball he bowls a wide, ridiculous.1

It's the way fielders like Roy does that in such a matter of fact manner and the team work involved in completing the catch1
