    Panettone in Aldi is four quid and as good if not better than the ten quid offerings in the more traditional shops. The Aldi Panettone in the green box.
    Spread on a little of the Lidl 'Lurpack' (which is IMHO much better than Lurpack Lurpack) and it's lovely.
    Trouble with Panettone is negotiating the packaging.

    I’m not sure I’ve ever had stollen or panatone (isn’t that the soreen that wannabe middle class people eat that costs about £30?)

    Stollen for me out of those. First tried it at a German Christmas market and I’ve never not bought at least one since. Lidl and Aldi both do very good and inexpensive Stollen.

    It's just German Christmas cake. If you were wanting to go full middle class overpriced, look for Portuguese Bolo do Rei in the UK...  ;)

    I have gone for Christmas cake though stollen would be a close second.

    If you have any left over Panettone, it makes a great luxurious bread and butter pudding. Tip, lob a bit of Cointreau in if you have any.

    When it comes to a cuppa. After years of taste testing Sainsbury's Gold Lablel is the one and only.
    It take two or three days to wean away from Tetleys or Yorkshire or whatever other rubbish.

    Only like a mince pie out of that list, but even then that's when it's swimming in double cream.
