Trip to the Orient for second XI

Charlton will make the short trip to London neighbours Leyton Orient in the opening game of the new reserve season.

The Addicks, who will be competing in the Pontin's Holidays Combination Central in the upcoming 2007/08 campaign, will make the short trip down the A12 on Tuesday, August 21st for an afternoon kick-off scheduled for 2pm.

The Stonebridge Road ground of the newly-named Ebbsfleet United (formerly Gravesend & Northfleet) will host the club's home fixtures, starting with a clash against Southampton on Monday, September 10th (7pm).

  • is this an early indication that we will be / have already scaling back on the academy ?
  • Possibly.

Pontin's Holidays Combination Central though - doesn't come any more glamourous than that doesnt it!
  • The Premier League chucked all the Football League clubs out of its reserve league a year or so back, that's why we're now in the Combination again.
