Absolutely correct. Only played for one club. I remember him playing at The Valley for Pompey and my Dad telling me how good he was before the game. I think the ball went through his legs in the first couple of minutes but after that he looked a cut above. John Trollope of Swindon played 6 more games for his club.

My dad was in the RN and despite being an Ipswich fan used to watch Pompey a lot. He always said that Dickinson was a classy defender/half back lol, a prototype Bobby Moore perhaps
