Sad news just breaking here that the much loved former footballer and Spanish TV personality Michael Robinson has passed away at just 61. He was a real big name here for his football punditry and a great guy all round. RIP.
RIP. I was at the '86 League Cup Final when Oxford beat QPR 3 0 and sat right by the steps on the way down from the balcony. As he walked past us he was absolutely distraught, no-one could console him.
Whole hearted and committed player who had to live in the shadows of Rush and Dalglish otherwise I'm sure his stay at Liverpool would have been longer. It's also one thing to become a pundit but another to be a successful one in a foreign country.
RIP Michael. Surprised he only made 280 odd appearances (71 goals) over 21 years in English football. He seemed to have a much bigger presence than that. Maybe it was the big £750,000 move from PNE to Man city in 1979 that made him loom larger in the memory.

Took a different path to many ex-players by playing and then retiring abroad and made a career as a broadcaster in Spain.
Very good player too.
RIP Michael
