It better be sorted soon for Bowyers sake as with each loss, injuries or not his stock value is lowering and his excellency may get other ideas.
Southall would not be so popular then.......overnight.
Maybe MS is fully aware of this so is offering Bowyer a contract he knows he won't sign. Then sacks him saying "we need a manager who is committed to the project, we wanted it to be Lee but he wouldn't commit"?
As I said. Bang 5 years. They must be well convinced.
Who stalls over a 5 year deal?
Someone who's not convinced it's as good as it sounds.
Why are so many people on here happy to sign a contract just because it’s worth 5 years?
I'm concerned what your work/mortgage/insurance contracts look like.
For all we know Bowyer has been offered a reduced salary over 5 years. Or told he gets no compensation if sacked early. Or that him and Gallen don’t have a say on new signings. We have no idea why he is stalling.
Why were we told it was 5 years? We need to ask ourselves that. We weren't told the other bits of it. Sort the contract out and and then tell us it is for 5 years or 4 years or whatever is agreed. But going back to my question, why tell us. Maybe if it doesn't get signed, the blame game can commence. We did everything we could, even offer a generous 5 year contract.

MS was asked directly in a press conference what the length was, and he answered.

Then Bowyer's eyes popped out. Southall should not have mentioned the length of the contract in public.

He needs to learn how to walk before running.
To be fair ... and I may need to watch it again ... but I am sure Lee showed zero reaction.

When I first saw it I thought he looked shocked, but I was doing other things and was listening more than focusing on watching. So I could be wrong.
But it was a silly question, and shouldn't have been answered. You can have a rubbish 5 year contract and a decent 2 year one. It was enough to say something like, we are putting what we think is a very good package together for him that reflects what he has done for the club and what we believe he will do in the future.

I checked to see if there was odds available for Bowyer to be the next manager to leave, have a sneaky feeling a deal won't be struck. To me it seems like the owners are concerned by the teams form so won't back him and Bowyer won't sign cause he hasn't had backing yet and I don't blame him.

That’s the personal ‘advice’ of this journo not a fact.

I would be amazed if he didn’t sign.
I know just sharing the tweet. I think Bowyer is gonna get the Chris Powell treatment. My main suspicion is the comment about flying over people from UAE, it's raised my eyebrows a bit, why can't they just use the specialists here? Just stinks of Roland again, all the similarities are there from last time. I want to be wrong just speaking from the gut, hopefully it's just something I ate

It was the second time Matt was asked that question and this is when the 5 year was mentioned.

All the similarities? What else other than Bowyer not (yet) signing a new contract?
If we don't get any in before Fulham and we lose I wouldn't be surprised if he walked.
We hear this ‘walked’ type comment quite a lot. What do people mean by this? Is the expectation that a professional football manager just resigns?
How many examples of this Have there actually been?
Lower down, plenty. Parkinson and Campbell spring to mind but Very unlikely in Lee's case. If Bowyer didn't "walk" on that infamous day and night when Segal and RD talks broke down until Roland rang Lee personally then no way would he Quit now. If they are very very close on the rest of the coaching staff and the sticking points of the contract then Wednesday before the game at the latest.

I posted it on another thread before that there are similarities to last time.
New CEO woos the fans with charm and appearing active.
Best player on the verge of leaving, club can't convince him to stay
Fans favourite Manager after a successful spell now in freefall cause of lack of investment, not being backed
Lack of clarity over what is actually going on, just blind faith from fans.
All we can go by so far is their word, I bought into Southall's words at that conference, since then all we have done is lose a key player. Just unfilling my glass now in case it all goes tits up which I am starting to think it will as the days go by
LB said just two days ago that he was very very close to signing a new deal, just a couple of things need tweaking, both parties are keen to get it done. Where’s this new panic come from?

Losing yesterday and not believing Bowyer will actually sign I imagine.

He said the same thing a week earlier. What do you expect him to say in the circumstances?

We lost yesterday.
Edited *apology's @Scoham but i think it needed saying twice. 😉

I was thinking that but I feel it’s just the perfect storm of our form, Bows deal, only 1 incoming, CG leaving, MS’s quotes on Valley ownership, years of mismanagement under the Spivs and Roland and a fanbase, left so jittery that until some actual real action is taken, they’ll be hugely sceptical, questioning every comment made by ESI and MS. Hopefully by Barnsley we’ll all be far more comfortable in our thoughts on what the future holds.

I think there is a fear that they won't agree a contract and either MS says sign this or go or LB will say give me x or I'll go.
If anyone has used "walk" and didn't mean that I am happy to stand corrected.
