Itchy eyes & blocked nose

I've tried to get a doctor's appointment this morning but no luck, so thought I'd try my luck with the fountain of knowledge available on Charlton Life.

For the last couple of days my eyes have been really itchy & my nose is constantly blocked.  I do suffer with hayfever but never in late October & if anything this feels worse than usual.  Anyone else been suffering & have any idea what's causing it? It's driving me mad!

I know the obvious answer is to go to the doctor, I just wondered if anyone else has been suffering this time of year as it seems odd

Is there a walk in centre that you can go to?  Try NHS websites or 111 mate.

I have heard of people who only get hayfever for a part of October but not the rest of the year - could it be anything to do with harvesting or similar?

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hay-fever/ Hay fever is usually worse between late March and September, especially when it's warm, humid and windy. This is when the pollen count is at its highest.
Late October is a bit late but it has been mild, humid, wet and windy recently

I get hay fever during July have done for over 50 years. This year same as u itchy eyes in October. Just buy cheap anti histamine tables from Poundland they do the same as dearer ones. DONT waste doctors appointment as he will tell you the same. Good luck.

I have had a blocked nose too for a few days. I had not expected it to be my hay fever but it could be.

A Doctor? You're lucky in Gravesend. I gave up on trying to see actual Doctors a long time ago. In Charlton your options are 'nurse practitioner' or joining the queue at A&E. My advice to your predicament is eight pints and a really hot curry followed by a long lie-in.

That pretty much sums up how I cure any ailment tbh.

Is there anything new around you? A new carpet or rug? You’re showing an allergic reaction rather than a hay fever reaction doesn’t have to be pollen to set that off.

    Either way, antihistamines should help.

I’ve been undergoing tests for similar for over a year!! Comes on worst at night or when tired. Also triggered by cold air. Still haven’t got to the bottom of it. Had CT scan, chest X-ray and been prescribed various tablets and nasal sprays but nothing really cutting it.
Seeing ENT specialist later this week. Not holding out much hope

I’m going to ask the chemist in Boots Eltham what she thinks.

    Doctor: You broke your finger
