    .
  • My guess is (nothing to back it up), that NH asked for January funds to push-on for a top 6 spot - and the board said no.
  • Bring him in…anyone is better than we have got in right now…
  • I take it thickos are ranked below village idiots.
As a thicko I find that comment deeply offensive
We were called village idiots by our manager Andy Nelson, many moons ago.
The village idiots are still angry about the reference.

Always liked Harris. Seemed to have too much class for the Turkish flag wavers IMO.
They most certainly are….…especially yours truly, being one of the two guys who made the protest banners and who he was particularly referring to. 😇
Perhaps he was not wrong then? B)

Charlton fans have a mutually felt antipathy towards Millwall, but in football terms, within the local football culture of contacts conversations and encounters I am sure that Neil Harris is respected and well regarded, and he extends that respect to others he knows in the game, including those associated with Charlton.
I know a former Millwall player who played with Harris. He hates us as much as I hate Palace. When I told him I was Charlton I thought he was going to hit me!
  • I suspect there is more behind the scenes than the Thicko comments, as fundamentally what Harris said was correct. Like someone else said assume there was a question of funds in Jan. Ultimately i don't think his comments were aimed at all Millwall fans but a small number and im sure most fans would forgive him if he apologised. Going over this is bizarre.

I would tend to agree. The Thicko comment is likely just a symptom of a more fundamental underlying malaise.

Harris or the former Millwall player?
  • Harris not happy with the spanners selling one of their youngests to the nigels is what I’ve heard.

Quite possibly but that’s just a fact of football life outside of the Premier League. If that’s his sole reason then he might as well knock management on the head.

There's no way (in my opinion anyway) that he's gone because of the thicko's comment or because there were a few boos at a couple of their recent games.

Talking to a mate of mine, it seems that Harris had become increasingly annoyed with the board regarding transfers, for which Gallen as their DoF is ultimately responsible. Allegedly Harris had never even heard of the Serbian they signed in the summer and he's their record signing! There's also quite a few rumours that Esse will be sold in January.

Personally i think his relationship with the board became more fractious and he's said i can't work like this anymore i'm off. Berylson has agreed but said please stay for 2 more games to give us a bit of time to look for a new manager.
Being linked with Palace which would go down well!

Hopefully someone also comes in for Tanganga as according to my Millwall mates some people down the pub, he is the reason they have a good defensive record.
  • I am sure he has gone becasue they are selling best players and not giving him any funds so he is off as a result, makes sense

Was it Andy Roberts by chance?

He'd love it at Charlton then.

Gallen and chocolate fireguard come to mind. Or agent Gallen lol

Wasn't too long before the, 'obscene barracking ' of Peter Shaw.
  • Anyone fancy a straight swap?
I'd take Harris in a heartbeat.

He'd sort out our squad in no time.
Ok but the football would be dire.

    Unlike now.

  • Just seen on Sky sports that he's leaving my mutual consent in two games time 😳.
Must be the first time that a manager leaving by mutual consent has two more games and doesn't go immediately. 🤔
Didn't Curbs leave by mutual content and then play Blackburn at Home and ManUtd away ... maybe just a South London thing
  • Ben Garner or Dean Holden please

Former Millwall player. He said that none of them ever wanted to be the first to lose to us. It was a dead serious thing for them.

We don't get along at all.

I have heard similar from a Millwall supporting friend and also his wife was upset by the abuse he is getting.

It would take a ridiculous offer for us to let Jones go.

    Is £1.25 ridiculous enough?

    I would pay Millwall more.

What abuse? There was a few boos after the last couple of lacklustre performances, which is standard at most clubs,  but abuse? No, I wouldn’t class it as that.

Since he had been back you’ve got more chance of hearing thousands of us sing “super Neil Harris” than hear any abuse.
