A few changes to rest players: Matthews for Solly, Field (had a great cameo on Saturday) for Pratley. Oztumer for Williams. Be a tough game. Heart says 2-1, head says 1-1.
I agree. I think Oztumer would be perfect for this game and he is a goal scorer which we certainly need.
Is the game going to be on Sky on the red button? I heard midweek championship games can be watched live? I'm away with work, but will try to squeeze in watching the game if so
Indeed it is mate. Don't work too hard and enjoy the game.
How come we play Wednesdays now instead of Tuesdays
Half play on Tuesday, half on Wednesday.
For the first half of the season we are playing our midweek games on the Wednesday. In the new year, we will be playing our midweek games on a Tuesday.
Sorry folks who follow matchday thread, and this is getting regular now we are in the championship, but because Swansea and Fulham games are on Sky, i will not be doing my contribution to the matchday thread as I will be sitting in a comfortable chair, with a beer in hand and relaxing (hopefully), and watching the games on Sky. Plus, the chair is more comfortable during bum squeaking time I hope someone or more than one will keep you up to date
I don’t get this resting players crap. If they are fit, played in the last game and played well then they should play again.
The days when players would drop into the pub before the game are over. Modern players, even in the second tier, are scientifically trained and prepared. It is the difference between race-horses and cart horses. They have to be at least 95% fit to play however good they are. Some cannot achieve that with three games in eight days.
Very interested to see how Bowyer rotates the team for this one. I’d personally change both full-backs, start with Aneke instead of Williams and swap Pratley for Field. Just to freshen things up before another tough trip to Fulham
Really hope Oshilaja gets the nod at right back. Admittedly I've only seen him play there once but was very impressive going forward against Forest, which, given Sage's comments about Swansea being weak from crosses, might be important if we play the diamond formation again.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Aneke start either. Definitely deserves a start in one of this week's three matches.
Could it be Oshilaja at RB and Matthews at LB, as Solly and Purrington may need to be rested. Not ideal but long old Season and Purrs is playing with a calf strain and Chris should not play 3 in a week.
That is something I was considering as well but left it out due to it meaning a lot of changes in defence, especially if Pearce was to play instead of Sarr.
Oshilaja has played all along the back line so if a change is to be made would it not be better to give Williams his debut in his position of right back and put Osi over on the left?
Bowyer won't be thinking that simplistically, I bet.
First of all he'd have been studying several match videos to read Swansea's tactics and gameplan, their player strengths and weakness both as a team and individual players.
Based on that, he'll devise his own game plan and pick his players accordingly, taking into account it's the middle game of 3 matches in a week.
Like you, I'm a firm advocate of playing a player in his specialist position. But it will depend on Bowyer's formation and gameplan. I bet he already knows what he's going to do.

Can’t drop Pratley if we want to get any point(s) here.
Bowyer will pick the teams to get positive results against Swansea and Fulham. Pratley had a storming hard working match against Leeds but if that free kick had gone in from his lunge down the away end then he would've got pelters from the usual suspects. I don't think players are dropped with this squad, more a bit of rotation to negate the opposition's strengths and capitalize on the weaknesses.( Plus trying to keep players at their optimum fitness levels)
No way was Sarr dropped after his excellent game against Forest it was just Bowyer wanted a different type of CB in the next game. Pearce and Naby are interchangeable alongside Lockyer. Field and Pratley may alternate in the next two games.
Darren Pratley deserved his extra year's contract and his character is shining through. A really good Pro.

Because we looked extremely fresh and fit when we faced Brentford after the back to back Barnsley / Nottingham Forest games didnt we
Do you really think it wise to play the same players against Leeds / Swansea / Fulham, especially when Bowyer said that the players were running on fumes around 80mins on Saturday
And a number (William's, Cullen, Gallagher, Bonne, Leko) who all appeared to pick up knocks or strains on Saturday.
the way we are playing and yes, the good fortune we are getting (our efforts deserve all the luck that's going) we can win this as well .. always nice to beat the welsh, though I dare say we have more Dai Bachs in the team than they do .. the squad is now strong enough to allow for any 'rest time' that Bowyer & Co think is appropriate .. even so, be good to see as few changes as possible

Mods can you change for me please, the option is not available for me anymore.

That's annoying as i don't have sky.
