Said after we got what he called "old-manned" by Shrewsbury in the play-offs (IE older, wiser players did a job on us) identified the need for a Pratley type player.

Somewhat unfairly I had thought of him as ‘just a goalkeeper coach and not that important’, but frankly with a 4 of Bowyer, Gallen, JJ and Marshall we are in ridiculously good hands.
Eloquent, thoughtful, intelligent motivators and with Pratley in the squad whom I suspect is of similar character from what I have heard, we just have an excellent management / leadership team.
I found myself thinking back to Karel Fraeye and his ‘just spread out and smile’ motivation; to Guy Luzon prancing about and unable to communicate and to the hot air of Robinson and ego of Pardew.. what a change. I hope RD appreciates just how lucky he is... he should.

I think we have a fluid coaching team. Surprised that the tactics analyst reports to the GK coach Marshall as that means that Marshall has a much wider input than any of us realised.

He said a similar thing about Aneke too. But that was down to the intensity of our training in comparison to anything they’ve ever had before.
Just when Page seemed to be getting back, he got a secondary injury which pushed him back again.
He’s now running outside and will be slowly introduced into training. The other positive side is that Taylor is the longest term injury we have now, so Page ought to be available in a couple of weeks or so.
By this time next month, if we don’t pick up any real proper injuries, we could have a whole squad to choose from.

Don’t panic FA, I’m sure we are over the worst of the injuries for a while.
It’s Christmas that I’m concerned about. 4 games in 12 days, 3 of them away from home and you also have Christmas Day in that time too. For two weeks the sessions will be pure recovery, tactical, and shape.
The team off the pitch is turning out to be as impressive as the team on the pitch. JJ was, if possible, even better value than usual. AM was very articulate, and had good answers to some interesting questions. The set-up at SL is far from complete but many there go above and beyond their formal duties/pay-grade. It feels like there is a real Addicks dynasty taking shape. Our guests went out of their way to praise colleagues such as Brett Shaw, Joe Francis and others whose names currently escape me.
It was a fine evening. Mutual respect meant we got some clear and honest answers, in a real Charlton spirit. There was a respectable attendance but truthfully these meetings merit a full house.
The most telling disclosure, for me at any rate, was to learn of Steve Gallen's burgeoning role. Everyone goes to him now, apparently, and the Owner's Belgian representative is not so much in evidence. These are remarkable times at our football club, and there is MUCH more to come.

Given we will have no striker on the bench for W Brom, unless we start only Bonne and Hemed sub, could Davison be fast-tracked?
International breaks: JJ says not ideal but did take a break but you then get three games in a week. Small number of players were still around but can't do much on team play.
Normal week is Saturday game, Sunday off, Monday recovery, Tuesday some light work and fitness, Wednesday off, Thursday tactics, Friday set pieces.
JJ would have taken the managers job when KR went but it wasn't offered and it was all dealt with very quickly. Felt he would have been learning on the job but would have thrown himself at it. He didn't seem at all unhappy with it then or now.
Dillon's mistake at Wembley. AM felt sick and had the sinking feeling that AM's parents must have had when I made a mistake. Was so relieved that it didn't decide the game.
AM feels Dills is very good but can go higher and still has a lot to learn. He made the point he's really only had half a season in league 1 and 11 games in the Championship but his improvement since AM joined has been great.
Felt that his distribution is improving. In some games it's very good but not always. Feels that the way LB wants us to play the keeper has to have good distribution.

He said a few players like Chuks and the WBA boys have said "Wow, we've never trained like this before".
Very much comes from LB. AM said that LB and SG have met with players and said "no" as they didn't think they were a fit for this culture.
