He appears to have a good working relationship with Bowyer and Lee trusts him.
I've said before that SG is the de facto director of football as well as part time CEO in the vacuum that is Charlton senior management.
We've invited him back to Bromley Addicks.1 -

If you have a good Head of Recruitment/Football/Sporting Director/whatever-fancy-title-you-like that has a good working relationship with the manager/coach then that is a good foundation. If everything works successfully then good times can come your way.
Look at the job Stuart Webber did with 'Uddersfield (promoted to Premier League) and now with Norwich (promoted to Premier League).
I'm not saying that the triumvirate of Lord Bowyer, Butler Jackson, and Gamekeeper Gallen will get us promoted back to the top flight (especially given the turmoil behind the scenes) but the chances of relative success (not getting relegated back to Division Three this season) are greatly enhanced by the work that Steve's done.2 -

This bloke isn't just a head scout, he's a top bloke and from all the shite over the last couple of years it's a miracle we have someone like him at the club.

Great work between him and Bowyer. Gallen has assumed a kind of GM role that you get in US sports.0

Anyone get the feeling that the hierarchy of Charlton Life has been infiltrated and that one of the mods is now on Roland's payroll?Or Tommy has photos?

A very charismatic man. Pitches the club to his network of contacts when trying to get players in, always out watching games, meeting people and on the phone. We are exceptionally fortunate to have such a man.

Sorry, but that is a bizarre post.
Oh and massive thanks to Steve Gallen, absolutely brilliant work.0 -
I had quite a lengthy chat with Steve at the Player of the Year Dinner in May. At that stage the playoffs had not started. He told me that they were expecting a tightening of the financial budget, but not to worry as whichever division we are in, he will deliver the players that we need to compete. We are so lucky to have this man at Charlton.9
