Live streaming on Valley Pass - new multi camera coverage & Scott Minto hosting p46

Some people really do crave perfection. I’ve never had an issue with Terry and Greg commentary, they keep up with play, add some decent anecdotes and insights, and do there best without replays (which they’ll now have).28
-
The lads now having a screen to watch replays is a great addition.10
-
It might be worth contemplating that commentary for listeners is not necessarily suitable as commentary for viewers.5
-
I wonder if upgrading this service now is an acknowledgement that full crowds at The Valley won't happen for a long time, next season at the earliest
London is more likely to go to Tier 3 than in the other direction1 -
Hi all. Paid for a stream for game tomorrow via paypal. Said it all went through and got an email, will it just appear at 2.50 tomorrow in my account on the CAFC website, or do i need to be sent a code for streaming? Thanks for any advice.0

No just log into valley pass and select the game and watch. What can be confusing is you can log into Valley Pass and when you go into the match screen you may have to log in again. But you shouldn't have any issues.
It differs but generally the camera is on an hour or so before kick off. I actually log in then as it buys me time to sort out an issue if there is one.2 -

Having said that, the live stream of the pre-season friendly against Villa last season was weird - that was with Villa commentary and they used a camera in the main stand instead of the usual East Stand ... it felt so wrong!0 -
Are there other clubs who are doing this (guess Championship down)? It's a great idea and Scott is great1

i don't have sky sports anymore but when i did i thought Minto was their best presenter. really liked him doing the La Liga presenting as well a few years back.

Sorry if we’ve had this question but I couldn’t see an answer to it. Does anyone know if we can stream the games on to a TV via Google chrome or something?0

It was at that point I realised my dream of playing for the club one day was starting to slip away ......

My first CAFC crush.
I stalked, sorry followed, the team everywhere back then.
Unless we give up renting the holiday cottage, I can’t live stream even with Mr Minto presenting, as Saturday is change over day (hence my preference to just listen).
Plus, I really do prefer to just listen 😩😩😩😩1 -

Yes.
go to the live stream in the app and then you should see a symbol in the top right which look like some semi circles. Press this and then select your tv.If you don’t see the icon then chrome cast is not running on your TV or streaming stick. Same applies for Apple Airplay if you have a TV or Apple TV that supports that.2 -

One quirk I've found is that sometimes when I Cast from my iPad to my TV , is that the picture on the TV is a bit dark. The answer to that is just to stop casting and do it again1 - Sponsored links:

Anyone bitching about Gregg and Tel’s commentary didn’t listen to the commentary in the bad old days when we had actual professional BBC broadcasters calling the games. They were universally shite and the club taking it in house with Tel, Pete Finch and Gregg was a huge step up in quality and one of the only thing Meire got right. Yes they’re biased but why that’d offend a Charlton fan is beyond me - we’re all biased too. The other thing they bring is they actually know about the club, it’s players, any current issues. Again, back in the bad old days when we had hired guns doing the commentary the general level of knowledge and research was dreadful. When the iFollow first became a thing but CAFC weren’t members and you had to watch the opposition’s stream I used to have to turn the sound off on many of those commentaries as they were terrible and just as biased if not more so than Gregg and Tel.I for one, as an emigrated Addick reliant totally on Valley a Pass for any kind of match day experience, am very grateful to have a) the steaming service at all, and b) a band of committed Addicks willing to give up their time to bring me that service. Tel and Gregg feel like old friends now, I’ve spent that many Saturday mornings with them.
A few of you would do well to remember we’re a third tier football club - tin pot in the eyes of a Premier League obsessed world - yet no matter where you are in the world you can watch every minute of every match, should you so choose, it’s a bloody miracle you’re even able to do that, let alone expecting it to be some perfectly polished high production value extravaganza of televisual delights.37 -
Has Minto been binned by Sky? What happens if there’s a clash with a Sky job cos surely that’s a long term thing he has to give priority too .
I think he’s a great presenter and however long he’s here for we’ve had a result .
Good luck Scotty , comes across a real nice fella0 -

SKY decided they wanted Caroline Barker to present their Football League fixtures now
I do wonder if this is something that'll purely be in place until normality returns and everyone is allowed back into Football, of course that wont happen for the foreseeable, but the moment all fans are allowed back I imagine the 3pm blackout on games will instantly return which makes me wonder if they'll bother (no offence) just for the overseas fans3 -
In the previous times when the only thing available was audio commentary, but you had a choice of the Charlton one or the host teams one, for 90% of the time I would listen to 'their' commentary.
Occasionally I would revert to the Charlton one.
I was first and foremost looking for a commentary that described what I couldn't see, and also wanted to experience the 'how others see us' aspect of things.
Given they would show bias to their own players I felt confident that they would be on a spectrum from disparaging to objective about us. 'Away' commentators made me feel I would get the truth about our performance more so than a Charlton biased commentary.
However as I say the first priority was wanting to know what's going on, if I had to endure bias shoved down my ears I would prefer it to be bias in favour of the other side which is expected anyway.
It was also more enjoyable to hear a variety of voices and accents.
If the other commentary did not describe events I would revert to the Charlton one.
One thing I learned doing that is that a lot of commentators around are good, some terrible, but I remember for example how excellent the guy from Cardiff was, and Scunthorpe and other places.
I did enjoy the variety, and hope that now at some point I will hear a commentary I can trust and that does not have the term 'overcooked,' said a dozen times a game.1 -

This is another example of how things have turned around for the club. We are investing in growth I for one hope it continues beyond fans return. GL all involved2
