He’s got a personal property portfolio worth over £2m and his own property business. It’s a guess but I’d say he’d earn more money if he retired and focused full time on that, than he is earning from Shrewsbury who probably have one of the lower budgets in league 2. There’s loads of references to him being very switched on with his money, even from when he was younger at arsenal
Is the portfolio geared? If so it may not make him any actual cash.

we had a few good years out of chucks where he was a top L1 player, unplayable at times. We are all aware of his fitness issues and it says nothing about us a a club that he has ended up in L2.
Did we? He had a decent period before he left for Birmingham, but resigning him was a disaster, when you look at the fee and wages we paid out, and sadly has to be added to the other disastrous signings in the Sandgaard era.
Not trying to look down on other clubs but it must be a bit of a climb down for Chuks to be playing for Shrewsbury. The ground is League 1 /League 2 level and nowhere near The Valley or St Andrews.......or even Stadium MK.
Sad to say that I expect the only reason why he got the gig there WAS because of Appleton. No-one else wanted him & sounds like Apples rang him (prob in desperation) to see if he wanted to drop down to League 2.
I actually think he has done well to get a gig of any kind given his injury history. Good for him still wanting to play. He has probably wanted to jack it in on numerous occasions. (He probably would have been better off doing that than working under that clown again)

Was our joint top assister last season, and I think his overall impact was underrated. He was our plan B, if we needed a goal he’d come on and we’d go more direct and it so often worked well and we scored late goals
I think he showed he’s still capable at that level. Due to the obvious huge risk that comes with signing him he’s had to drop to league 2, if his fitness was guaranteed for 30 sub appearances then loads of league 1 teams would sign him because he’s still good enough at that level
Shrewd business by the Shrews. He can't stop himself like a true striker, craves goals and the feeling it brings I expect, quite separately to his property interests. He still carries a lot of that Arsenal premier league quality and should easily impress for Shrewsbury if he gets minutes. A piece of me feels like a Shrewsbury fan today. Good luck Chuks.

I really liked Chuks and think he’s a top bloke. Slightly disappointed he couldn’t get a better gig than Shrewsbury, ie at least a London-ish thing or something, but anyway good luck to him

A personal property portfolio of £2m, at average yields and before costs, isn't likely to be a sole source of income, particularly as in London (the most likely location), that would consists of maybe 2 or 3 properties.
It's unusual for a business of that "scale" to not be registered as a limited company. Chuks Aneke is not registered as being involved in an active business. He could be a sole trader, but it's unusual (How do we know he has a property portfolio worth £2million? Because he wrote it on a website).
Chuks is recorded at Companies House for "Chuks Aneke Promotions Limited". That company was dissolved in 2018.
He appears to have an affiliation with a property company, 3sixty Property Group. There is no suggestion that this is his "own property business". I can't find that company registered at Companies House either, nor the suggested partner Henry Homes (great name).
In fairness, the Company does have a website with a mobile number, a Hotmail email address, and a "Cokkies Policy". It doesn't have a correspondence address.
I genuinely hope he is financially secure (and he may well be - footballers earn a good wage), but I'd suggest the view that "financially he doesn't need to carry on" is an opinion on this forum that has grown legs and is now stated as fact when there is no evidence that it is.

Appleton is a pants manager (surely that’s not disputed?) and the shrews are obviously desperate taking a punt on a player that even when “fit” which is virtually never can’t move at any pace for fear of breaking down. Are people forgetting he stole a wage with us? Along with Kirk I regard his signing as one of our very worst signings in years - 8 goals in 4 seasons upon his return
Aneke won’t send them down agreed but he sure won’t contribute to their safety either imo

Should he play in another 50 games either on the professional circuit or non-league, I would bet good money he'll play more minutes than he did for us in his last 50 games.

Aneke stealing a wage got us over the line at Wembley. Without him, the ball would have kept coming back and orient may have nicked an equaliser.

Yes BUT we all know that he created absolute havoc at times in the box and that was the reason he was so highly rated by us and the staff, when fit. And therein lied the problem.
Also, his role had changed last year under Jones imo. Jones seemed to play him deeper, asking him to sit in one space, barely run and just win the ball by holding his ground. If players could hit him with the ball he wouldn't need to move much and could stay 'fit'.
