I suspect the numbers fluctuate as soon as you commence a purchase the overall availability being reduced by one for a 20 min allocation window. If that purchase doesn’t complete for whatever reason (probably because the payment system fails under the avalanche) it will take that time for the seat to become re-available

You’ll have the extra tickets by the end of the day but there won’t be any more than that.
