80 years ago today the great stadium designer slipped off to the great drawing board in the sky. Nice article about his (disappearing) legacy.

  • Not particularly interesting or related fact, but Archibald Leach was the actor Cary Grant's real name. This is why John Cleese's character in A Fish Called Wanda was called Archie Leach - he figured it would be his one chance in life to play a Cary Grant-like character.

    Agreed. I only opened this thread because I thought it was about Cary Grant.
  • I think his work is sublime. Would love to see a modern stadium include aspects of his style.
