Not sure if the story in the top right of the picture below has been mentioned before, but I'd not heard of it.

    True apparently, although I doubt he so much sent him off, as poined out the colour clash.

    Was it recorded whether Wally Hayward or Keith Greene remained alive in the immediate aftermath of their feats?

    He was asked not to disclose the full details of the conversation. 

    Then, for months afterwards, lots of people who barely knew him asked him over and over again to get in touch with the ref again and to tell them what he said. 

    He would do so, in good faith. But then people would moan at him and demand more information. 

    Eventually, the ref stopped talking to him about the incident. 

    And the takeover slowly rumbled on.

    I think Ian McCall of Glasgow Rangers would have been mightily put out at the suggestion he would bother taking his boots off, before using the hammer on them.
