New players for next season......

So what have we got so far:

Right back - Moo2 (Irish tribute band)
Centre back - Paddy McCarthy
Centre Back / Left back - Corry Gibbs
Winger - Hans Christian Anderson
Striker - Varney
Striker - Ilewumo
Stricker - Dickson

That's 7 already. We still need at least one keeper, and two centre mids

    On the striker front we're taking a punt on Dickson which is fair enough but why did we release Onome Sodje so soon? He is still in his teens and scored regularly for Gravesend and Northfleet last season so presumably has potential.

    Very strange decision in my view given the poor quality of youngsters that we HAVE kept on.

    No, 8 or 10 before we signed those two.

    Personally I don't think it's too important cos like AFKA says it depends on who goes or re-signs but I just know if we sign 9 players it will be "why did Murray lie to us?".

    The other thing to remember is this happened without any leaks or rumours. Who knows who else is in the pipeline (not me for sure)

    Wishful thinking about M Bent I fear.
    HE's the one player I'd like to see go above all else but on his wages and with SE7 ideally located to hit the west end night spots he favours straight after games I think he's happy here.

    I remember saying to my Dads mate after the Spurs game that Marcus would be with us for a couple more seasons and nothing has changed since. He's the type of player that a club like us will always end up with when we try to 'make it to the next level'. At least he's given us all a reality check and persuaded anyone with half a brain that if/when we go up young and hungry (not in the Reid sense) is the way forward.

    i was talking about charlton. and jeffers is a very close call....although somehow has he scored more goals for us?!!!

    Jeffers cost us only the initial £500k + signing on fee + wages and scored 5 goals plus several assists.

    He could play if he wanted to - lack of opportunity caused by Mr Curbishley's change of tactics and 'individual' style of man management gradually snuffed out Jeffer's drive and desire - and added ambition to his social life and drinking habits.

    By then his attitude stank. But we all remember that cracking game he played against Villa, scoring twice to put us 3-0 up - and so Mr Curbishley pulled him off when he was fired-up to complete his hatrick. And coming on as sub when we were struggling against Birmingham and being pivotal in setting us up for a 3-1 win.

    By the time he was farmed out to Rangers as a misfit, bereft of self confidence - the club would have had to pay the remaining £2million of his transfer fee if he once more put on a Charlton shirt.

    I've always felt he should've been given more of a chance however it was clear his confidence had completely gone and probably his fitness after too man nightd in the Venue. He did also fail to score in about 16 games for Rangers, i mean even Lisbie would score goals in that league!
