  • I cant see tweets... what do they say please?

Brentford clearly wanted him badly if they’re going to the effort of 4 bids.

However, if the last one came yesterday and they haven’t put one in today that gives me the impression that they are maybe focusing elsewhere.

3 hours left for a bit to be accepted, and then personal terms to be agreed, signed in person etc. Can’t see it happening

Brentford have had four bids rejected for Lyle, most recent was all cash up front over 3m.
  • Maybe 3 in, hard to believe one isn’t a right back. Why are some certain we won’t bring one in?

No guarantees about LT until 5pm and we’re trying to get another 3 over the line

  • Worry is that Brentford will look elsewhere, find nothing, then come back with a panic offer we can't refuse right at the last minute.

#cafc still looking to get two - if not three - deals over the line. Intention is for two of those to be strikers. But think any chance of Matty Taylor is gone. Same with Louis Moult.

    From Richard Cawley

#cafc have rejected four bids from Brentford for Lyle Taylor. The fourth one was made yesterday.

I know people want guarantees Lyle will be staying. But the simple answer to that is it ain't over until we get to 5pm. #cafc

Then Cawley moves on to incomings: we’re still working on two if not three deals but moves for Taylor from Bristol and Moult from Preston look to be dead. Also he says no substance in Troy Parrott rumour.

If we're looking at right backs the Crewe lad Perry Ng is highly rated by them.

  • The most interesting deadline day for many years. Two in already and still many possibilities ahead.
  • Why is our chance of getting Matty Taylor gone?

Also if Brentford bid 4 times yesterday, i assume that means they've now given up.
  • So 2 in, 2 or 3 more to come, 2 of them strikers, but none of them names we've posted on here.

    Intriguing

They've missed out on all their targets so far, so just like last year when they didn't give us a striker because they couldn't get deals done themselves, they won't let him leave before they have a replacement
  • Any news from Waterloo Station?
Just about to go through there now. Hope I see nothing

Maybe one of them is Toney?
  • Would the third be Ivan Toney as a Lyle replacement IF he goes? Posh want a decent fee for him so I can’t see it happening without a sale happening first.

Dont forget we also have one empty loan spot still to fill.
  • Interesting that Matty Taylor (Shame!) and Louis Moult chances are over

Guess they'll be names we dont expect like Jonathan Leko

    This.
  • Do we really need another two strikers?
