This post could quite easily go into the "general things that annoy you" thread....
Over rates & close of play.
Last Test we had rain delays & this time was made up over the rest of the match by ending later. 7.30pm was the latest scheduled time I believe. Today is a lovely day & no rain around so play in due to finish at 6pm....6.30pm maximum.
52 overs were bowled at tea. Average of 26 per session & so 38 to be bowled in this last sessiony. No way that will happen & will probably lose 2 or 3 overs by cop. Cant be made up & they are lost forever. At 6.30 tonight I expect the weather will be glorious & could easily play for another 10 or 15 mins to get the overs in. But they wont. Last week people were huddled under umbrellas & with coats on hoping that they would see some play & the officials done their hardest to get some cricket in......so why not the same tonight when the weather is perfect ??....
Do any of you bet on the cricket much, always looks quite appealing to me the next person out market. Most cases you can predict it, never really bothered myself.
Eg. currently Root next out 5/4, Bairstow 4/7
Although unpredictable from a distance, without trying myself if you can get 2/3 you will probably profit. Some aren't as close but generally they are
So...
...who's going to be out next?
I would say Root generally, but I am no expert. This is why I asked if anyone on here looks at this market as you lot are a lot more knowledgeable

Of course I did...n't
I have said I don't have the knowledge on cricket but from an outside perspective it looked reasonable. EG. you will profit if Root outstays Bairstow. It wasn't specific to them but in general betting the next person out, for people who know more or statwise odds look fair but might be quite a big margin in it.

My only advice to you is that the odds are always in the bookies favour. Very seldom can you beat them over a period of time. I'm sure you know that anyway.

I had to laugh, the bookies are always rich... so that in itself tells you everything
There are small edges but you are right, I was merely pointing out for the cricket experts in here as they might see the value or know extra information. Personally I just bet small for fun, don't think I have ever bet on cricket in my life...
Blackpool72. What did Cummings do? I'm watching Tipping Point
F kin tipping point
I echo this, somethings are best not to share Paul! I once went to Dublin for a few days and anytime I turned on the hotel TV on at silly O clock, it was on. Really grated on me lol
Marsh has proven an excellent change. If your specialist batsmen aren't scoring runs, seems silly to only pick 4 main bowlers when you have an all rounder option

Not sure what can be done about it though.

He could be clean bowled and he would review it in case of a no ball.
Come on young man !
Whoops, nearly an apology due....
