Maybe it has been affected by relegation costcutting.
I would have thought though that the departure after 7 years of a player who has made 200 appearances and was always a model pro would warrant some sort of reaction.
pretty shambolic site for a prem or championship club, the addressing is wrong too, I hope we ditch them in the cost cutting personally, always falling over, mind you I guess these days it probably get a lot of hits during frenetic periods, player transfer news etc.
I think you are being very harsh without knowing the background or what other tasks the communications team have on.
The summer is one of their busiest times as they have a whole raft of documents for summer events, the season tickets, promotional offers to do as well as stories on new signings/sales.
I don't know why the Kish story isn't up yet but unlike the BBC or Sky the Official site has to wait until the story is official. They can't jump the gun or use phrases like "expected to sign" or "will sign today". I wouldn't be surprised if they find that even more frustrating than we do, seeing stories they may have already written and are ready to put up scooped by others.
Also I guess that sometimes they don't get a huge amount of warning before a sale or signing is confirmed. I get an e-mail about 1 or 2 hours before the official annoucement and I guess they get about the same notice in some cases.
The programme and the website keep winning awards and getting praise so they must be doing something right and without the resources or staff numbers that Sky or the BBC have.
I did open with the caveat that it could have been affected by relegation costcutting.
Nevertheless it is not every day that a player who has played 200 games and given 7 years service leaves the Club so I would have thought that the Club would respond promptly in such circumstances.
If the move is not as clearcut as portrayed in the wider media then I accept your point.
However if it transpires that Kish has in fact gone then I stand by my original position for the reason given.

Look at the crappy Premium TV sites every other Championship club has, and be careful what you wish for.
When you have to put up with selected things only appearing on "Charlton World", generic ads for crappy mobile phone services and having to log in to the bloody thing all the time, you'll look back to the days of wobbly old cafc.co.uk with nostalgia.
I have no problem at all generally with the Official Site.
However a player leaving of 7 years and 200 matches service is an exceptional event and worthy of as prompt a response as possible in my view and that is all I'm saying!
interesting the way the club say that kish is the second player to leave officially. it sounds like, as we all suspected that come the 1st july there will be a lenghty list of players who will no longer call the Valley home.

Costcutting, Len?
You mean Matt Wright's sent the Kish article in from an internet cafe in Majorca - where he's spending his relegation redundancy pay on a decent holiday?
i have no real complaints with the official site, think it does a good job woth the right balance of coverage.
I sometimes wonder about whether the resources are being to best use though. I'm sure i read once one of them saying they spent the day compiling the 'your views' section. I see no use for the 'your views' bit whatsoever, when there are a load of unofficial sites, such as here, that perform that function.

Agreed. Actually, I forgot the "your views" bit existed until your post, I've always dismissed it as a bagful of complete nutters.
But then again, there's that invisible group of fans who don't feel comfortable with t'internet, aren't going to appear on unofficial sites for fear of getting a tongue-lashing from someone, and if they do use the internet regularly, would feel much more comfortable on an official site. The mailing list's an example of this (despite the ganging-up which goes on there), but I imagine that's what "your views" is for. But yeah, if I was in charge, I wouldn't bother with it myself...

I'm not really interested in the International exploits of any of our players, but especially one who won't be CAFC player shortly.
Perhaps he's too busy on this forum......?
Have we been reinstated ?????????

As I said above just my opinion.

It's there now though and they've done a good, fair job.
If JFH done that every game he played for us last year he would be fit!

Lots of energy but NEVER a Prem quality player.
