Really interesting article, and I have had this argument with many hammers fans, that their staying up had little to do with the management, but mostly to do with Tevez and some unbelievable fortune at crucial times (e.g Blackburn away). They seem to be attracting money hungry players like Upson and Neil, would you have picked a team really struggling as opposed to Liverpool, or a team that looked odds on for promotion from the Championship than a team at the bottom of the Premier league. Maybe Bent could see that was the way Wet Spam are going, a bit like Leeds, and that's why he decided to turn them down. I think the pressure to be seen to be competing for Champions league will be a huge burden for them and predict Curbishley won't last, not sure if he'll be comfortable in that kind of spotlight, he didn't seem to keen in those first couple of months at Upton Valley did he...his body language was awful.
