In fact, Charlton bit Curbs' hand off to seal the deal before anyone changed their minds.

I was on the bus on the way to the Spurs game with a small group of their fans who were a little bit pissed, and managed to confuse one of them horribly when I said we'd be happy to take £7m or so for Marcus Bent if Spurs were offering. Even when I started to use phrases like "bite your hand off" and "drive him there ourselves", he couldn't understand why we didn't rate him, until his slightly more sober mate pointed out to him that I wasn't talking about Darren. All we need is a manager / chairman that's too pissed to tell the difference, and we're away!
